It wasn't our best game of the season I'd give you that, but calling it an embarrassment is a stretch. Embarrassing is losing by 24 to the last place team in the MAC like we witnessed a week and a half ago or not making it to Cleveland for the tournament, which seems like a very real possibility given our recent play.

You're joking, right? We lost by 5, not 30. Now our performance against UTA was an embarrassment.

I can't see them firing him being 1 year removed from making the NCAAT.

I haven't seen this board so divided over a topic since the fire/keep Bowden debate of Winter/Spring 2017.

As the old adage goes, your best ability is your availability. This is particularly true for a team that is already thin. He needs to learn to play smarter and quit putting the team in foul trouble so quickly.

I think just in general there has been a lot less chatter this season

Good for the students. They already handle enough of the burden of the cost of running an athletics program.

I'm showing they played 4 MAC schools in 12-13 season and another 4 in 13-14 season. They were all against the same 4 teams and were H&H deals. Not sure why that was only 2 of the 4 years they were in the MAC and not sure why Akron wasn't one of the 4 teams picked for the H&H.

I'm almost positive they had a play a certain number of MAC teams in basketball each year.

Perhaps that includes some preferred walk-ons

I don't know how we can jump to conclusions on how this will impact the program without knowing the target numbers.

All fans in the country feels their conference has the worst officials. All fans also feel their team comes up on the short end of calls.

Are we really going to have posts before and/or after every Duquesne game from one side or the other for the remainder of the season?

I have to imagine they would have stricter regulations on "olympic sports".

Doubt this game had much impact on the Bobcat faithful. The fans had to of gone into this figuring they'd lose.

There were probably a few overcritical posters, but @LZIp hit the nail on the head, all programs with high expectations have them. What was posted on this board was pretty mild compared to what I've seen other fan bases post on the internet.

The student organization still exists. They just seem much more tamer these days and smaller in numbers.

Let's not get carried away. His 2011-2012 Ohio team certainly was more talented than this rag tag bunch, but he still took a 13 seeded OU to the Sweet 16.

I'm for one grateful to see competition at the position next season. Granted I haven't seen Riak play yet, but I'm not 100% sold on any of them. That's not to say I haven't seen things that I like, but all of them have a long way to go before they become contenders for All-MAC teams. Hopefully the competition makes them work harder to earn their minutes and we see some of this potential develop into on the court talent.

I agree most require at least a duo. CJ McCollum is another example of a mid-major player who put his team on his back to carry his team to an upset. He likely would have been in the running for some accolades the following season, but had a season ending injury. Man how I wish he didn't get away.

I was pointing out a big time MAC player who left for a P5 program pretty much costing OU their season this year. IDK if it was the added pressure, a loss of confidence, or what, but Simmons isn't the same player. He was getting minutes and was in the rotation at UM at the start of the season, but he stunk up the joint leading himself for find a place on the bench.

I'm with @72 Roo. I wasn't all that impressed with the run blocking. I'm not sure if that was because of the O-line coach or lack of talent on the offensive line. Either way it's an area we will need to improve as a team.

Time will tell, but I just don't see it being a wash. I see these P5 schools targeting proven players that are good enough to put a team on their back for a game or 2 in March and exchange we get above average MAC starters.
