If we can't be that defense that defends for a full 30 seconds and forces our opponents to take difficult shots, we need to be a defense that can create turnovers. We came into last night ~300 in the country in steals averaging ~5 per game. Last night we had 11. The way we played defense that 2nd half is the way we'll need to play defense down the stretch if we hope to get into a position to pick up that ever elusive NCAAT win.

So I heard on the radio today that OSU is going to need to trim it's roster of 7-8 guys to make room for all the new signees. Something to keep an eye out for.

We have the best starting 4/5 combo in the MAC yet our bench bigs are stiffs. Need to get Hughes healthy and hope he can contribute.

We got out rebounded 19-10 in the 1st half. If that doesn't change in the 2nd half I don't care how hot we get in 2nd half, we won't win. If our defense can't get stops, we need to create turnovers.

I'm calling it now next years Akron team will end Dambrot's coveted 21 game win streak.

I don't have numbers, but I felt we did a slightly better job of running them off the 3 point line in the 2nd half. This however resulted in them blowing past us on their way to the basket. We don't have guys that can both play tight and keep their man in front of them. We tried to stop both and it resulted in us stopping neither. This is a poor defensive team and honestly I'm not sure it has the ability to ever be good giving what I've seen from our personnel. Hopefully we can get it to average and keep playing at a high level offensively.

17 would seem about right. Assuming every freshman redshirts (not necessarily the case but a high % do) 85 scholarships divided by 5 years comes out to 17 players per year. Sure attrition such as; players transferring, quitting school, or in the case of Lane declaring for the draft makes it so not all players stay 5 years. But we take on, or at least in the past have, a lot of transfers so that offsets some of that.

That's been the theme of the season since MAC play started. I'd expect nothing less.

As long as we're able to continue to go down to Cincy and find guys like Kwan and Big Dog or go to Houston and find guys like Antino, I'm not too concerned.

I'm expecting a big game out of both Antino and Ivey. NIU is a great defensive team so I went under on the 3P%.
