  1. The person that made it is a Gonzaga fan and from his comments he seems pro mid-major. He's just trying to provide an objective opinion on how he sees this playing out with the selection committee.
  2. I stumbled a cross this on reddit. It lists the at large resumes for relevant non P6 teams using Kenpom.
  3. You'd have to add at least 1 loss if you're insinuating Akron as an at-large team. Certainly no other MAC team would remotely be in a position to make tourney without winning the MAC tourney. A 30-4 Akron team I'm guessing would get in, but I don't see us going 18-0 in MAC play. We still have 7 road games left to play.
  4. The best solution IMO if there was actually a long enough waiting list for the lower section is that you track how often those lower bowl seats are scanned. Anyone that doesn't attend 66% or more of home games is subject to lose their seats at the time for renewal and someone on the waiting list gets them. I believe the lower bowl sold out just shortly before the start of the season so I doubt there is a waiting list, but if we ever actually grow one I feel this would be the best system.
  5. If only we could hit free throws...
  6. And fouls per minute
  7. The mass exodus of people I saw leaving the JAR with 3-4 bobbleheads when I was walking in was pretty incredible.
  8. Those freshman decommits shouldn't impact this season as I'm guessing the vast majority of them wouldn't have seen the field as true freshman. WMU lost some seniors (all schools do), but they also have a lot of held over talent from Fleck having the #1 MAC recruiting class 3 years in a row. Akron lost its 2 best receivers, perhaps best o-lineman, 2 starting DE, and #1 corner so its not like Akron's coming out unscathed. Unless there is a mass exodus of transfers, I'm feeling WMU can get to 7 wins. I don't see Akron getting to that total, but would love for them to prove me wrong.
  9. Yeah, the 1 vote we did get was from a local AP guy (Cleveland). We are a far ways off from getting enough people to buy in for us to be ranked. Win another ~5 games while ACC, Big 10, and other power conference teams continue to beat up on one another and then we should be in the discussion.
  10. It's no different than Mel Kiper and the NFL Draft. If he was half as good at evaluating talent and projecting where players will go in the draft as ESPN claims he is, some NFL team would have hired him for millions of dollars years ago. Your personality and the way you're able to communicate your point is more important to ESPN than how accurate you are.
  11. FTFY Last year a study was done and it discovered Lunardi is one of the least accurate bracketologists out there.
  12. Agree. Flying out to Salt Lake and playing an opponent like Duke, who who will drive up ticket prices, would cost me more than what I'd be willing to spend. Give me Xavier or Saint Mary's in Buffalo and that would be a game well within my budget.
  13. Robotham has been quiet since he had that hot stretch in December. I think he gets hot from behind the arc and drops 17 to lead all Zips scorers.
  14. Yeah, TBH I don't know why they waited until half-time to hand them out. Why couldn't we just pick them up before the start of the game to beat the rush? We're season ticket holders. Not like we will take it then turn around and walk out the door.
  15. Hate to see a player miss his senior year. Wish him a good recovery and a successful career someplace overseas.
  16. Do 800 people really attend WBB game or is that number heavily inflated? I haven't been to a WBB game since probably the 08-09 season.
  17. Whenever someone, including you or I, takes the initiative to start it. I've seen game threads created weeks in advance or within 24 hours of tip-off.
  18. Seemed like they almost had a little too much going on (a first I know). I went and picked my mug up at half-time and missed all but the last dunk from the TNT Squad.
  19. I agree 100%. The band was the only students that I saw standing and turned when opposing players were announced. I wonder how many of the students that did show up this was their 1st or 2nd game attending. I'm not sure if they were aware or just didn't care enough, but they didn't even stay standing until the Zips 1st bucket.
  20. The students actually showed up to this game (in numbers that is). I'd say the student section looked 70% full from where I was sitting and that doesn't count the students that like to sit in the general admission sections. The problem was the students and crowd in general showed a lack of energy. The only real time I noticed the arena erupting was when Pokie blocked it and it led to an alley oop dunk on the end.
  21. Akron beat Ohio therefore we are all winners! Great day to be a Zip.
  22. TDM has some sort of eye infection. According to Dambrot he is pretty much playing with vision in 1 eye. Hughes is having some sort of back trouble. From the sounds of it, it isn't anything severe. It is just a discomfort that is impacting his mobility and play.
  23. Dambrot is on record as saying the reason TDM hasn't played more is because he hasn't been healthy enough to practice. Once his eye fully heals and he is able to practice daily (if he isn't already there now) he should expect an uptick in his minutes.
  24. I'm going to venture to guess Antonio Campbell won't play considering he was seen in a walking boot. I know as a Zips fan I wouldn't want us rushing Big Dog back from injury for fear he would re-injure and not be able to play when games matter the most come March. Beating Ohio at home without their returning MAC POY should be expected out of us. I would take nothing out of that game if we were to win by 2 or 20. Edit: I honestly do think we are the best team in the MAC. We've at times allowed teams to hang around too long, but we have had various players step up for us down the stretch to squeeze out victories. We need to start playing a full 40 minutes instead of only stepping up the intensity when our back is against the wall. Getting Hughes and Martin back healthy would be a start.
  25. Has anyone heard what round "experts" have him going?
