  1. To be fair @Z.I.P. never stated Yellow Tail was the absolute worst on his wine scale. The 2nd half vs Jackson State was pee poor, but I've witnessed worst halves of Zips basketball in the past. He might have a lower tier of wine to represent those.
  2. If you exclude Kent, Akron, and Toledo Wright State is about on par with the rest of the MAC this year. These are the type of games we need to win, particularly at home. That said, I expect given Akron's offensive woes that we'll be upset by a few subpar teams this year. I still have Akron winning, but wouldn't be surprised if Wright St makes this game interesting.
  3. It's like Akron thought the game was over and quit playing. Not boxing out & instead of chasing down loose ball they just let other team pick it up and lay it in uncontested.
  4. Even though Tavari makes a few of those head scratching freshmen mistakes each game, he's still a better option to have on the floor than the alternative. Hopefully with more experience by February and March those mistakes become fewer and fewer.
  5. Already looking ahead I see.
  6. Tribble and Hunter
  7. Nobody rolled out the red carpet bigger than Rick Pitino with his strippers and prostitutes
  8. On the plus side if they joined the MAC may no longer be the worst conference in FBS.
  9. We're 8 games into the season, which is a decent sample size. We're shooting 40% from the field, 31.9% from 3, and 60.3% from the free throw line. Our average shooting night is still pretty horrendous.
  10. Looking at his Twitter it seems he's on a lot of teams radars.
  11. With Irons this team has a much higher ceiling. Irons has areas he does need to improve his game (As can be said about nearly everyone). Namely in getting through his progressions quicker to find the right read, and simply understanding at times its best to throw the ball away to live for another down instead of taking a costly sacks that kills the drive. Hopefully with an improved o-line and another offseason with JoeMo he improves in these areas.
  12. Were we at the full allotment of 85 scholarship players heading into this season? I thought @LZIp in the past had tracked that and we have been in the 70-75 range in previous years.
  13. Wish him well, but if he's a 5th string RB at a 2-10 FBS school it makes me question if he'll have many suitors
  14. Last one to leave remember to turn off the lights.
  15. Akron to Cincinnati is a hell of a move. He must have family in the area I assume
  16. The Sun Belt is an upgrade over the MAC
  17. Kent is just a tough place to win. They schedule 3 games a year against the likes of Alabama, OSU, Clemson, Oklahoma, etc. That means they have to go go 6-3 in all other games just to make a bowl. Their facilities are absolutely terrible. As I understand it what they budget for assistants is near the bottom half of the MAC. Their AD publicly has come out and said the athletic programs focus is basketball. Lewis likely just felt he achieved all he could at Kent and it wasn't even enough to get him into the discussion for what I'm guessing is his dream job at his alma mater (Wisconsin). He probably feels going back to being a P5 OC increases his opportunity to get where he wants to be.
  18. P5 OC to MAC HC back to P5 OC. I have to imagine his plan when he took the Kent job was to use it to catapult himself to a P5 by year 4 or 5. Since that's not happening it appears he decided to jump ship.
  19. I suppose the plus of not making a bowl this year is it frees up the coaches and assistants to spend more time on finalizing a class.
  20. Your first link is just CBS personal rankings. NET rankings are published on the NCAA official website. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings
  21. Yes, honestly even if Colorado has few quality caliber P5 starters you'd think a coach would want to retain players for depth. A coach in basketball may be able to turn over an entire roster in one off season in basketball. In football there are 85 scholarship players and of those I'd imagine 50 or more see meaningful snaps over the course of a season due to injuries, sub packages, special teams etc.
  22. The first official NET rankings are out. For those not aware this is the metric the NCAA created to replace RPI for the purpose of evaluating resumes and to help seed teams. This is how the MAC currently stands. 1) Kent St. - 24 2) Akron - 137 3) Toledo - 156 4) Ball St - 165 5) Ohio - 182 6) Buffalo - 185 7) CMU - 220 '8) NIU - 287 9) BGSU - 295 10) EMU - 325 11) Miami - 329 12) WMU - 338
  23. The MAC East during Lewis tenure has also been by far the worst division in all of college football. Despite this he is 19-17 in MAC games. Edit: IMO no MAC coach should get much consideration for a P5 job, but Candle has the best resume of the current MAC coaches 53-32 (35-19). Two conference titles.
  24. This seems like a lateral move at best. I wonder if his reason for leaving was that he was 25-24 at Louisville and fearful that he'd be entering next year on the hot seat had he stayed.
  25. If Lewis is seriously the best Cincinnati can do, they would just be better off promoting their offensive or defensive coordinator to the position. At least doing that would help them avoid the mass exodus of transfers.
