  1. an exact replay of last year's game at the JAR. Toledo was lights out and also was red hot from the foul line which was always the Zips big advantage. 8 non-conference games would have really helped the Zips. None of the guys have the fire of Cheese and Banks.
  2. I know...but I can't sleep. Hes not as bad as the guys who join the football threads.
  3. That is so patronizing and condescending. We are NOT casual fans and the basketball knowledge on here is high and those who don't know the Xs and Os like myself don't pretend like we do.
  4. Against EMU last year, he gave the assist to X for the game winner. The last game against Toledo he gave the assist to Maishe for the game winner. That's nice you know the guys.
  5. Yes. And they certainly have the advantage of playing a lot more games. And frankly all those years of cheating may finally pay off for them this season.
  6. BigZip1: frankly, i like a differing point of view. But you are only 20 posts in and are doing some serious trolling of the Zips top player.
  7. Trivia: Last time Akron face Toledo in the MAC tournament was a first-round game in 2009. Akron won in OT...on a last second shot. the longer drought is against Central Michigan and that was 2008.
  8. Knives are out. Some controversy and recriminations!! We haven't had a good dose of that in the basketball threads since KD bailed.
  9. i wouldn't call Toledo less-talented. They may just be the better team this year. Their record proves that.
  10. Agree with that. They are choke monsters. I think there will be a tournament. The schools are letting some fans into the games, and I think it would be just completely rotten to take that away from the players two years in a row. It's a seeding issue at this point. And, yes, they do have Zips #. The last 3 games against the Zips they've scored over 90 points. Houston, we have a problem.
  11. Too soon?
  12. Toledo seems to have had the advantage all year. they got more games in and only loss in MAC is by one point in OT. Just too bad Zips weren't ready for EMU and NIU. Those two losses will haunt rest of the season.
  13. yep. just like last year's game at the JAR
  14. and they win. this season will come down to PCCC and Toledo.
  15. like last year. they got red hot against the Zips and then would implode against other teams. Book this to the Rockets.
  16. And score more points than they do.
  17. Anxiety is building
  18. when was last time Zips won at Savage Arena? 1983?
  19. I'm seeing +7.5. Harsh.
  20. In Groce, I trust. What else is important for Groce is being in the right state mentally. “Every game is different. I know this and I’ve tried to tell the guys this,” he said. “What’s happened previously in the last 10 conference games for us … will have absolutely nothing to do with Tuesday night. It’s who plays the best on Tuesday night. Who makes the most plays on Tuesday night.” More importantly, what happened in that first game against the Rockets just doesn’t matter. “The fact that we’ve played them before has nothing to do with Tuesday night. We’re not going to fall for that,” he said. “We’ve got to be ready to play and play as well as we can play, execute as well as we can execute on Tuesday night. Play for each other. Play with the right force and the right spirit. That’s what we can control.”
  21. If that. Roads are clear. Not sure if they left today and are staying the night
  22. But for COVID and the social distancing on the bench and the players having the ability to stand up and get into the games, we wouldn't be seeing all this camaraderie. Maybe psychologically it's not as bad to be taken out of the game when you have the other players to standing around and supporting you and talking to you as opposed to taking a seat at the end of the "bench."
  23. That's right. You live nearbouts the Shalersville Region.
  24. why "ugh" to all those? isnt that a good thing? or you prefer espn2, etc?
