  1. And nothing against the players who leave if they do. I just don't see Duquense rebuilding their program around them. They are young and must have so many people chirping in their ears right now. I hope they have someone they can absolutely trust to guide them. I'm probably naive, but I hope President Wilson is reaching out to them as I'm sure the AD is.
  2. Agree with Roo in part specifically on the multi bid league crap. Whose fault is that? There's no NCAA rule that says MAC is one bid league. It's been lame coaches like Dambrot and Hawkins who made the league one bid.
  3. This whole thing was bound to happen to us eventually. He knows he will be hated. The players are learning another lesson in that "life isn't always fair" category. But I'm surprisingly with Lzip and OldCrowe let him leave and take Hughes and TDM with you.
  4. When you all share your "kudos" and "good lucks", remember his loyalty to the program could be purchased. And he is willing to take as many players as he can and decimate the program. That being said...that's how things go in NCAA division I basketball. And we will be there next year and will stand by all the players who stuck around with the Zips and cheer even louder for them than we have in the past.
  5. Can I buy a few more "Likes?" Agree with LZip. Spare me all the pleasantries. I hope President Wilson is making personal phone calls to Noah, Antino, and Jimond.
  6. Dukie...your timing is just a little bad. Give the Zip fans at least five minutes to process, accept, and move on. Do you go to someone's funeral and start giving the grievers the "objective facts." Go hang out with other classless people. Oh, wait, you are already in Pittsburgh.
  7. Nick Dials needs a job?
  8. Duquesne? Who can even pronounce it? This isn't bothering me at all right now.
  9. I guess all of us who wanted change just got what we wished for.
  10. Well I guess that's that. Nice.
  11. How many of us keep typing "Duquense" into Google News and refreshing? I didn't even know this was going on. I noticed that this thread was active and took a look...and ..uh oh.
  12. Who is this Coleman Crawford person?
  13. Illinois State has a Divison 1 football program, so they would be a good comparison. VCU, Gonzaga, and UT Arlington don't have football.
  14. Was a good listen. Got a little tired of the "lost opportunity" meme. I wish he had spoken more about what went wrong this year...if anything actually did go wrong. Maybe the Zips played up to and at their potential. One vision I will take away from this year is that in each game we lost Kwan seemed like a temperamental loner and not a senior leader. I may get grief about saying that, but even in that first loss to YSU I just remember the vision of his standing on the far side of the court with that pout as the game slipped away. And do add to this "missed opportunity" meme because of this dominating front court...well, obviously it wasn't dominating. Kwan and Big Dog were flawed players and didn't seem gel together. But that's why they were at Akron. You just can't will them to have better natural talent. I don't necessarily mind watching seniors graduate and move on. It's good to see new faces and a new dynamic with the team. Maybe the team will play faster and run more next year? Maybe someone will seize the moment to shine. GT was right that there really hasn't been a "rebuilding" year for the Dambrot. Maybe a rebuilding year would help all of us appreciate what we've had and enjoyed. But these last two years, even with the regular season championships, were definitely frustrating.
  15. Time for some Bowden Ball!! Excited for football!
  16. I think he tried that with Abreu, Tree, and Harney. Thrice bitten...
  17. Hoosiers. Sit those lazy kids down next year and play the walk ons.
  18. So Ball is coming back and Woodson will be QB? And Chapman is a wide receiver now?
  19. Illinois State...What a way to lose. Refs completely controlled end of that game. Fouls on both ends changing outcome within seconds both ways. UCF came back from 13 down at half
  20. Thought that the other night during BYU game.
  21. Always hope but sensed UTA was going to be big problem.
  22. Illinois State was up by 18. Now up by 1 at home. Hang in there Zips
  23. Is this from the first half of the Northern Illinois thread?
  24. UCF is coming back from way down against Illinois St. Hang in there Zips.
