I think at home against anyone else our faith would have been stronger. The deficit and the history at DeKalb weighed heavily. That starting lineup is so cohesive you know good things can happen if they can stay on floor. Antino and Noah remind me (in some illogical way) of my favorite point guard combo of Roberts and McNees...You can trust they will get it done.

Considering our history with NIU, the complete comeback doesn't seem probable, but if they have to get it down to a two possession game.

If we can do like WMU did tonight and just keep chipping at the lead and get this down to 5 or 6, we can do this.

As is tradition, about this time in the season the other MAC teams start learning how to play us. There was going to be a loss somewhere a long the line here. If and that's IF it's tonight, it was predictable and doesn't doom our season.

I remember we chartered a plane to Buffalo right before a package was delivered and still lost. Of course, didn't we win in DeKalb one year when the team stayed at a haunted hotel?

UNC Wilmington lost by 18 to an average team. They likely now need to win their tournament. The hopes of lower seeding and at-large bids for us and other mid-majors like us hang by gossamer threads which can be snipped so easily. It has to be a lot of pressure for the players.

I definitely heard him say the team was flying out. I was looking over NIUs stats and nothing really stood out for them. Like Buffalo, they are very low in 3 point shooting % (last in the league) As someone said in another thread Buffalo played above itself and NIU will need to do the same. They are ranked just higher than we are (2nd and 3rd respectively) on scoring defense. We are much higher on scoring offense and are #1 in field goal percentage. So looking at it on paper, we are at an advantage. (Caveat: those stats include all games and not just MAC games). But if they show up playing like Buffalo did on that awful painted home court we will need to dig deep two games in a row. Tough, tough road stretch.

Good read on Buffalo Bull Run and their perspective. They thought Big Dog should have been fouled earlier than 2.3 seconds but on the other hand they thought it wasn't a foul.

I'm in the "Just Win" and don't ask "how?" category, but I do enjoy the commentary on what is working and not working if only because it improves my limited basketball knowledge. Our coach was thinking ahead to an overtime and appeared to be rotating for that very real possibility. Two of their guys fouled out. As for the lack of defense on the drives (and maybe some one can help me out here), I'm wondering if these "no touch" rules are part of our problem. But then again one of their players had 4 or 5 lay ups when he literally dribbled around the out entire defense and made a bunny. I'm sure the staff is addressing this, but as in past years our rivals are learning how to compete against us as the season goes on. They watch the film.

Agree with last two posts. I know that we had some trouble with Miami but how did the team we played last night lose to Miami and also lose to Toledo by 30. The MAC is a conundrum. I really cant make much sense of it. Ohio crushes BG at BG but we barely hold off the Falcons at home. Do teams really play up to us? I don't think we are necessarily playing down to them. CMU has a player knocking down 40, 50 points a night but they are still at bottom of MAC. I know we have a better group of players than they do but you can't say our defense is better. But through it all we keep winning. So now what?

I will have to watch the replay on espn3 because during those last foul shots I was sitting down with my head buried in my hands.
