Incredibly fun game that all the fans at the JAR needed. Some breaks went for the Zips at the end: 1. Refs catching that Marshall travel at mid court was huge. 2. Non call on Xavier trying to steal the ball with 2.8 left. 3. Watching replay, Jackie thought it was mistake for Marshall to call timeout at 18 secs left. They have hot shooters...play it out when game is tied. 4. And clutch free throws. Greg Tribble one of my favorite players. Groce obviously has him as the core of the team. I noticed in replay that he was really being a leader on the floor during last 20 secs. As for KJ, I don't blame him. I wouls rather blame Whitford. Groce is a high level coach. Whitford is not. This waa KJs 3rd school. I hope he finds what he's searching for. It's a real shame. But he may have been a toxic force in Florida.

The Akron football legend going forward will be that late one night in the Summer of 2021, Charles Guthrie was perusing Zipsnation and came upon this "What about Joe Moorhead" thread and had his "AHA" moment.

Looks like GT put down read his Twitter feed and/or Zipsnation this morrning: Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead will be the University of Akron's next football coach, according to multiple reports. The announcement is expected to come sometime after Friday’s Pac-12 conference championship game between the Ducks and Utah. Moorhead would replace Tom Arth, who was fired Nov. 4 with a 3-24 record for the Zips. "According to multiple reports" means he didn't bother to pick up the phone and work the sources at U of A he's been cultivating all these years

OMG. The only media you have to deal with is $%* George Thomas. I read an article that while he was at Fordham they had staff meetings in a "junk room." he can drive to work every day and park his car without being noticed. Maybe LoyalZip will wash his car once a week for him.

Her husband had a recent health scare. she probably wants her husband to do whatever will make him happiest. Rebuilding the Akron Zips may be less stressful than calling the offensive plays for a Power 5 school with a rabid fan base.

Masks are required upon entry. Once inside, the policy isn't enforced but most wear them when they leave their seats. They make announcements periodically that they are required.

Well in one short video they showed him at MSU training camp and he kept repeating "ball security." Arth must have forgotten that with DJ. Stark, MS, seemed like a hellscape. The AD announced that JM didn't fit their culture. Next guy they hired isn't doing well.

Search Joe Moorhead on YouTube and there are some awesome videos. In an interview today he spoke about being in the booth because of his recent health scare. Mentions briefly his MAC Championship game. There's another video in which he's described as a genius. He said his priorities are: 1. Personal and Family. 2. Professional 3. Monetary. Said he grew up poor and he's doing fine. Also, the "drag my Yankee ass out of here" interview is intense. You can tell he hated it there at MSU.

Maybe Oscar Rodriguez. Players...I have no idea.

He needs to redeem himself against Utah. Huge game for him.

$$$ isn't everything. He likely got a huge buyout from Mississippi State. He's from this part of the country. He was an asst at Akron. Just because Akron football has had crappy teams doesn't mean this is a bad job. Probably a lot more job security here than at some bigger institution.
