  1. Anyone know anything about Adam’s at WR?
  2. Hope everyone is doing well, i keep up but don’t comment much but I have seen every Hoban football game for 4 seasons 18-21 to watch my nephew now playing at Stonehill. Hoban is a machine but wouldn’t want Coach T coaching my Zips. I liked Bowden because he gave Dusty a chance but Morehead in year one in my humble opinion has provided the best overall staff & I believe the roster could be its best this year from end to end. Scouting is so difficult and so many coaches follow protocols, height, weight, speed etc. Trayunum now at Ohio State is the best player I watched at Hoban. Peterson is very good & will make some noise this year Clark’s knee injury was more serious than most people realize, he had complete knee ligament tears & nerve damage. He had the measurable’s Fox was big for a WR, thick, a little slow, was a safety but from what I understand didn’t want to make the change Rumler may be able in the mix this year I believe Dawson led the NEC in rushing this year, same league my nephew is in. I told my brother & nephew all along he was height challenged to play D1, he was a 4 year letter winner & 3 year starter Sperling is an absolute beast but I see why no real interest at D1 level at about 5’8”. He held up in high school being way over used so he may surprise at the next level Hopeful this is our year to take off Go Zips 🦘
  3. Thank you, he passed his CFP and is doing very well, we both watch all the games and struggle to watch where the program is. Hope we get the right guy and get to see good football
  4. True dat, I was there, i do believe they were better than us but it was their Homecoming & they weren’t ready to play the next morning 3E739339-7286-4615-9FE3-9062E0E82FFB.MOV
  5. What is a joke? Not sure I understand, what is being stated? Is this about the money that was given to players as loans when NCAA stipends where late?
  6. Can’t answer if Arth uses it or not. On official visits during the Bowden area they took the recruit & family to the Hall of Fame
  7. Update: laughing as I type the shameless plug 😂 Dustin graduated in December from the Finance department & just passed his CFP if any of zipnation is looking for a Zip Alum Financial Planner
  8. He had a parent meeting that addressed exactly that. He was not happy with the classroom & off the field behavior. Two semesters & both GPA’s have went up & highest team GPA’s in school history for football. He also emphasized the importance of special teams & that we didn’t have enough big, fast WR, CB, S, LB’s, those are the types of athletes you need to run down the field on special teams plus give you depth & flexibility He has been true to his words & hit the JUCO hard for these type of players. I’m not expecting a complete turn around this year. You will see an improvement but he again weeded out some non D1 players or so called bad apples that didn’t want to buy in & is working with less than 85 schollies but should be able to have roster close to where where he wants after another season of getting his guys
  9. Just an FYI, Burkhart being medically disqualified keeps a scholarship but his athletic scholarship is given back that can be immediately used towards the 85
  10. Found this picture on social media, it’s his last college football play ever & it’s a TD, gonna miss it
  11. We don’t have a 2022 started yet but he was at Norte Dame a few weeks ago
  12. My nephew is the right guard for Hoban. I was at Benedictine vs.Hoban this year & Rosser had a bad game, dropped some easy passes. Coach Z was there for the first half. If Hoban has a weakness it is their passing defense & Benedictine did throw fairly well against Hoban but Rosser did not play well. IMO, which isn’t much
  13. Appreciate the support for Dusty, I have avoided posting while he was on the team. We appreciate everything Akron has done for him. We are going to miss watching him play. He has been trying to play through Ocular Migraines triggered by hard hits. He has lost his vision a couple times during games & has tried medication & emergency medicine when there is vision loss. Outside of football he has no symptoms & he carries a 3.8 and is part of The University of Akron’s #11th ranked Financial program & will miss football but will be ok Thanks Zipnation
  14. He always had talent but at some point he became a beast that won't be outworked, he also is a much better person, He is very close with a coach who has been around the Coventry community since the mid 90's when Coach Mo came from Orrville. He was able to stay on staff after Mo and a few coaches but after one of the coach changes was not picked up and Coventry and Harrison don't have a good relationship. He is Coventry's claim to fame and would be great if they could work together in the future. Coventry has a great new school and the football complex in the back looks terrible. Would be great for Community if they could work the differences out and get a stadium called James Harrison Stadium After posting this I thought because of my screen name some are going to assume I might have ties to Burkhart, no ties, I know him from coaching in the youth in Coventry for years and he will be the second on the current roster from Coventry I have coached over the years and their may be a possibility of Sibley next year, he has the ability to play D1 as well and was just showing my support for Coventry and University of Akron
  15. There is a chance that in 5 years James Harrison from Coventry could be a Hall of Famer if he every retires. Steelers all time sack leader, to bad he went to Kent
  16. We changed the offense by using the read run part because of his legs but didn't in the read pass option, we kept the vertical game & he threw in to double coverage & under threw a lot of balls Changing the offense isn't that difficult, they probably have a couple hundred plays on that play card because every week you should have a different game plan trying to expose the weakness in that weeks opponent, also it doesn't change overnight but you add a little every week It's always been my opinion you need to use as many packages as you can, otherwise the opponent practices all week on one or two packages & are good at reading them & stopping you, if you have 10 packages you use they have to practice them all & they won't be good at any of them, it makes it difficult, plus as an OC it helps finding the weakness in the defense if something isn't working go to the next package
  17. I think the game has changed and QB's are succeeding younger because of the RRPO (Read, Run, Pass, Option) they are better athletes & keep defenses honest & disciplined & they can succeed with their legs & expose the defense when they commit to stop the run with easy short passes to athletes that can make plays but unless we change something we need a QB with a strong arm & can read defenses & coverages because we love to go vertical. IMO think Chapman could have been successful in a RRPO offense, I know it was high school but he was great at it at Kent, I can't figure out why we didn't change the offense for Chapman, he is bad at reading defenses & throwing vertical. We didn't help his cause or the teams.
