  1. I am a big Zips fan but I would be willing to bet that no sane & rational observer will describe the Zips fans who attend the Boca Bowl as showing up “in force”. Showing up for games is not exactly what we are known for. Just sayin’.
  2. Haven’t we been looking for this all year? Only South Alabama, Washington State & Western Kentucky rushed for fewer yards than us in ‘17.
  3. Hilltopper, are there any other nicknames you can set the record straight on?
  4. On the scale of good ideas, I would say it’s equivalent to scheduling UAPB in football.
  5. A Lannister always pays his debts.
  6. To everyone who attended the game yesterday: There were 16,000 fans there. I hope you all were able to see what 16,000 fans look like and what 16,000 fans sound like. Please remember this when tempted to buy into and/or justify the ridiculously inflated attendance numbers UA floats. Thank you.
  7. Rodat Nelson. Look him up before it disappears.
  8. Well, it’s almost go time. Is this the biggest game in Zips history? Obviously, a win would be an incredible shot in the arm for the program and that is definitely #1 on my wish list. But if a win isn’t in the cards, I am hoping against hope the Zips can at least keep it respectable. I hope they execute a well-conceived game plan keep mistakes to a minimum and look as competent as possible. Looking ill-prepared, undisciplined and unworthy will not benefit the team going forward. Please put it all together Zips! We want an early Christmas present!
  9. Purdue couldn’t win the MAC.
  10. @UAZipster0305, your scenario would be great for getting some geographic sense back into conference affiliation that got destroyed by realignment.
  11. If your scenario ever happened West Virginia would lobby to join the MAC. There would be reverse realignment where second tier P5 teams would want to join G5 conferences to get the CFP bid. I doubt if we live to see that arrangement.
  12. I think the next Bowden interview that’s something special will be the first.
  13. Have you been to a Rockets home game lately?
  14. Dollar General Bowl is a fine Bowl and definitely better than the Potato Bowl but still a tick beneath the Family Dollar Bowl.
  15. Which is harder to believe? Toledo’s inability to win the West or Akron’s inability to win the East? Perhaps Saturday begins a new era.
  16. Pretty much maximum schadenfreude for me.
  17. Any TE, not just Booker, is gonna have trouble catching the ball when they don’t leave the line of scrimmage.
  18. Very interesting reading this thread. I really figured the Zips would win 4 or 5 games this year. Although I hoped the defense would improve over the disaster of 2016, I anticipated another struggle. The defense was a pleasant surprise. Much improved. The offense was as exciting as watching paint dry (with the exception of 1st half vs. Ohio). I expected that. I expect it as long as Milwee is the OC. A 7-5 finish was never in my wildest dreams. Kudos to the kids. They never quit. When you have a team that was outgained 8 out of 12 times and pull out 7 wins, that is a testament to never giving up and finding ways to win. Just think, if we had an offense with a pulse, Troy and Miami turn into wins and the Zips go 9-3! ??? Looking forward to going back to Detroit. Been a long time coming.
  19. Flash tears are delicious. http://csnbbs.com/thread-834288.html
  20. I disagree. In hindsight, since Kato had a lackluster performance last night it may seem like playing Thomas was a better decision but if #1 had played lights out, this thought would not even enter your mind. Bottom line, Terry made the right decision. Thomas let the team down. Thomas let himself down. It is unfortunate he made some bad decisions but there is much more upside for the Zips going forward playing Kato.
  21. Life is way too short for me to check for the Duquesne score. I wish Keith the best but I couldn’t care less about his career with the Dukes. I even heard that LeBron James stopped following him on Twitter.
  22. That’s it. In all its glory.
  23. I think one thing we have to look forward to with Groce as a coach is players reaching their scoring potential. Or should I say that is what I am hoping for.
  24. There is an old cliche in sports that “you don’t lose your job to injury” yet many jobs are lost to injury when the replacement is an upgrade. I’m not aware of any sports cliche that says “you don’t lose your job to suspension”. Let’s hope Terry has his thinking cap on here.
