  1. Feels like some politics there. No way all 3 of our WRs don’t make at least one of the teams. A little jarring that Shockey missed the first team when he was on national award watchlists.
  2. Sounds right to me. This article does a nice job of breaking down the bowl tie-ins. https://collegefootballnews.com/2022/07/college-football-bowl-ties-affiliations-for-each-conference-2022-2023/7
  3. A few takeaways: - Sounds like the OL is now settled into a rotation of Landers at LT, Whigan at RG, Williams at RT. Georges, Robarge, and Kilbane splitting time at LG and C. JoeMo said Georges, Robarge, and Kilbane came in as walk-ons but did not say if they are all currently on scholarship. He didn’t mention it but Chambers has also seen some time at LT, giving Landers a break for a series or two. - Hawkins saw time in the heavy D packages at NT and held his ground. - Corey Thomas is now officially a DB, playing mostly Nickel but considered a Safety. - Terry has played his best football the past two games. - I don’t remember his exact verbiage, but he said something along the lines of Kellom probably has a little more shiftiness and burst to him than Wiley and Price, but needs to add on more weight. - JoeMo was happy with the rotation at Linebacker, but don’t have the bodies for the same kind of rotation along the defensive line or secondary. (My words here and not his) Its concerning that some of the young guys like Fann and Lawson still haven’t developed enough to give us anything. - Looking forward to the matchup with Buffalo.
  4. Trent Dilfer new HC at UAB.
  5. Looks like this report was false. GT removing the interim tag and keeping Brent Key. Things change quickly.
  6. Take this for what it’s worth…
  7. I’m not going to call out any players by name but there are still some on the roster that should probably be playing at a lower level. Keep in mind the roster by the end of 2021 was probably the worst in the FBS, so some changes needed to be made. And still do. It’s a balancing act more than ever with the 85 scholarship limit. For the most part, coaches know which players will be hitting the portal before it’s announced, but there will always be a few surprises.
  8. Saw that, but didn’t think too much of it. If P5 offers start rolling in, I’ll be worried. Although, I know there was some talk earlier in the year about SDSU joining the PAC, but not sure where that stands.
  9. Wouldn’t be surprised. He’s a player JoeMo recruited out of high school. Also expect the staff to at least reach out to Oregon 4 star WR Dont’e Thornton.
  10. Edge/OLB Sebastian Benjamin of St. Francis has been offered. Zips fans may recall #9 giving us all kinds of issues in Game 1. As a reminder, he collected 3 sacks that game.
  11. Agreed. Hard to envision either one of those hires happening, but anything is possible.
  12. Urban Meyer is atop their wishlist. Other potential candidates are: Tom Herman Alex Golesh Jesse Minter Mike Denbrock Mike Tressel Brian Hartline Kerry Coombs
  13. I could be wrong, but I thought it was originally scheduled for CBSSN. They may have decided to back out with the rescheduling.
  14. DB Marques Sigle of North Dakota State has been offered.
  15. Yep, he’s a safety. He’d probably also get a long look at Nickel too. Since Jerry Kill took over at NMSU, we have offered many of the same players. Expect that to continue as he has proven to have an eye for talent and connections to the Midwest.
  16. Coach Renna, who coached Jordan Vincent at Eastern Illinois, has extended an offer. Figured this offer was coming once I saw Vincent hit the portal.
  17. Oregon OC Kenny Dillingham named Arizona State’s HC.
  18. Agreed about the hire. I watched Tulane struggle for 8 years first hand. If you can win at Tulane, it’s likely you can win anywhere.
  19. It may have something to do with the transfer portal not officially open for FBS players. They can announce their entries, but I believe the official open date is December 5th. If I’m not mistaken, contacting and offering a player directly would be a violation until the portal window opens. I don’t think that applies to players who have been kicked off or have already left their schools. Of course, we’re going to see many commitments the day of the portal opening due to all the alternate communication that’s already happening. As far as offering so many FCS kids, I don’t have an issue with it if they can immediately help. There are definitely some really good players at that level. Just a matter of finding the right ones.
  20. DB Diondre Glover of Central Missouri has been offered. DT Jack Daly of Bryant has been offered.
  21. Tulane’s Willie Fritz headed to Georgia Tech.
  22. I didnt get the impression any of the current commitments would have jumped ship even if we did only win one. It’s clear progress was being made despite the win/loss record. However, I think closing the year out with consecutive wins could help us with any guys who are on the fence or even some of the most recent offers.
  23. “Biff” Poggi to Charlotte Matt Rhule to Nebraska
