Number of commitments and how many stars those commitments have. Right now, the rankings only account for high school and JUCO commitments. I’m not sure how the portal will correlate, but Rivals says it will eventually. In other news, there is still a chance Lester Miller rejoins the fold.

Bump for a few commitments (not to the Zips) over the weekend. Also, Akron currently stands at #87 in Rivals Team Rankings and 5th in the MAC. Kent State is now last in the MAC.

Probably because it’s nothing more than speculation at this time. Not saying something couldn’t happen, but doesn’t seem to be any meat to it at the moment.

I updated all the movement I’ve seen on the first page. If anyone sees any commitments (to Akron or anywhere else) and offers to new prospects, please continue to let me know.

I’ll add him back on the list since he carries a Zips offer, but with Bowen and Spriggs already committed, I’m not sure if there is room or need for another LB. I think another scholarship LB would need to transfer out first.

I think he’d do well at all of those schools. I imagine a few more OL will hit the portal once we land some OL portal/JUCO commitments.

I honestly have never paid much attention to UNLV football. What catches my attention is where certain coaches/coaching staffs go. Recruiting will tell the tale. If I was a betting man, I wouldn’t be betting against this staff being successful. But we will see.

Bobby Petrino is back to the FBS level as OC for UNLV. UNLV hired Barry Odom as HC. Team to watch in the Mountain West in the coming years.

I have no idea about #1. Athletes are typically labeled that way because they play multiple positions in high school and sometimes are expected to grow into a different position in college. A lot of times these kids are being recruited by different schools to play different positions, so it’s just easier to label them as an “Athlete” instead of multiple positions.

He plays in an offense where the OTs are mostly in a 2 point stance, similar to ours and certainly moves well. Reminds me a lot of Landers in the way he is built, able to change direction, block in space, and run. Although, he may not be quite as strong as Landers at the same point in their careers. What is exciting about James is the upside he has. Looks like he’s just now scratching the surface. He carries a frame where he’ll easily be able to add more mass and not give up any of his mobility. I wouldn’t worry about the star ranking or his offer list. James likely wont be expected to come in and see starter minutes in his first year, so he’ll have plenty of time to develop and potentially become an excellent lineman down the road.

I’m surprised we didn’t see more in the first week too, but I’m sure there will be more players exiting soon. Almost every team ends up losing 1 or 2 guys that should have stayed. So far, so good.

Not sure how a guy who has direct access to JoeMo can whiff on information about Harper and also leave out other key players that are coming back like Holt, Thompson, etc.
