I didn't know where else to put this other than this thread, but I've been encouraged over the last month by the efforts to market and promote the team more. Giveaways, theme nights, The Outback, some actual in-game entertainment, bringing back an in-game host. I love to see it all and hope it continues.

One thing that stuck out to me was Sharron Young's energy on defense. He was a nuisance to Toledo's guards and did an excellent job of disrupting their flow. After one of his many hustle plays, he was checking out of the game and Groce actually motioned for the crowd to give him a bigger ovation. You could tell he loved it. Young was also subbing in defense for offense for Tavari toward the end of the game, which is a big indication of Groce's growing trust in the freshman. I'm really excited to watch him continue to develop.

You're probably correct, but I'm still happy they adapted instead of just chucking bad shots.

Loved the offense today - I dont think it's a coincidence they scored 100+ when taking more efficient shots and less forced threes. Don't love giving up 81 to a bad EMU team, but it happens.

The added issue with chucking 3's is more long rebounds, less second chance points, and easier transition offense for your opponent.

I read your post. Top 75 is very different than Top 5 when we're talking national rankings for 3-Point attempts.

They are in the top 3rd of 3-pointers made and attempted, but percentage. That's why I wouldn't call us a good three-point shooting team. I think this is the basis of our disagreement.

I decided to look back at Groce's teams that won Tournament games at OU, and I don't think they really shot an excessive amount of threes. Obviously the game has changed a ton since then, but I don't think that was the OU formula. 2009-2010 Season: .366%, 20.5 3PA Per Game 56.5% (13-23) vs Georgetown (W) 38.5% (10-26) vs Tennessee (L) 2011-12 Season: .344%, 31.9 3PA Per Game 37.5% (6-16) vs Michigan (W) 50.0% (9-18) vs USF (W) 37.5% (12-35) vs UNC (OTL)

The issue is we're not that good of a 3-point shooting team. The stat keeps getting thrown out that we're 5th nationally in Made 3's, but we're 120th in 3-Point Percentage.

Waiting to see if he will be with them but planning to if he is. He didn't play for the Mad Ants today, so I'm assuming he will dress for the Pacers tonight. I'm hoping maybe someone here with connections to Enrique can let us know if he travels with the team Saturday!

I hope they do everything they can to make Enrique Freeman Night at The JAR a memorable night for him. GA tickets should be $5 - get a big crowd in there to show Enrique all of the love he deserves.

Seth Wilson! Listen, I've been highly critical of him but man did he look great tonight. If he can keep shooting it like that and playing good defense, he may pay off after all. Okonkwo was super active tonight...really did a great job of doing the dirty work in the paint. And Sharron Young...that kid is going to be special. Hopefully he'll stay in Akron because he's going to be a helluva player.

They certainly need to revisit the format. The #1 seed earns you no advantage - not hone court, not less games to win the tournament...nothing.

Certainly there are improvements they can make that would at least help. Replacing the bleachers would be a great start. Improving sightlines (remove the track?) would be good. I understand your greater point - a new arena right now is unlikely - but there's still work they can do to draw more fans and create a better gameday experience.

I was a big fan of the double-bye format. Getting to advance straight to the semis was a huge incentive for the top 2 teams in the regular season.
