some ncst fans seem to think B. Cowher could replace Amato. does anyone know what the connection is? Is B.C. an alum or something? I guess he already owns a home in Raleigh...?If they fire Amato and do a comprehensive national search, JD's name would have to be on the list. It would put him in the BCS club and he would be one step away from the top echelon, not unlike an Urban Meyer BG-->Utah-->Florida career path.

In a span of 4 games we have accomplished 3 major milestones:1) winning our first MAC title2) appearing in our first 1A bowl game3) getting our first win over a BCS teamI thought it was game over in the 2nd half when their D was storming all over Getsy and our D looked like it was exhausted so to me this finish was as amazing as the MAC title game. In the heat, in the loud hostile sea of red...Wow.

I think Goodyear changed the blimp style/colors around mid-80's or later so it's not too old. Cities do tend to look smaller from the air though.

That is a good article to have run in W. Pa. The writer needs to know there are 9 Div. I schools in Ohio, not 6. And JD needs to remember that although we have always been surrounded by football talent, his predecessors at Akron did not have dazzling new practice and training facilities and $300M in campus improvements to help reel in good players. They also had to compete for recruits against perennial I-AA powerhouse YSU in the Tressel glory years. The Zips didn't even have a league to play in for Faust's first 6 years.

I'm pretty much with ya but I don't think the betting public is quite yet so I'll say 'Even'.

The Wolfpack ran for 217 yds and threw for 42 today to beat Appie State by 13. If we're a touchdown better than App. and NCSU is a touchdown worse than Penn State then we have a chance to win this game.

We'll need lots of Getsy passing yards to sustain drives and hang with the Lions. If that can't happen due to heavy raining from Ernesto it will be hard to have much success running against PSU's front 7. Let's hope the storm stays east and we have lots of sunshine on Saturday.

As of now, the extended forecast on weather.com says sunny with a high of 77 degrees on Saturday.

did anyone notice there's 16 games scheduled for next thursday night, including 8 MAC participants? I knew they were getting rid of the early-early season pigskin classic, etc. but I didn't realize there was such a flurry of thu. games until I bothered to look at the schedule on Yahoo Sports NCAAF. Looks like BC at CMU will be on ESPN2 & Spurrier's team will be on ESPN. One more week to go !

Great to see another former Zip hanging around the NFL and showing his productivity. The Zips coaches can really use this on potential recruits to show that you can get there from UA and the scouts will keep looking at the Zips for under the radar draftees and free agents.
