  1. This terrified me when I first read it. But he gave heart and soul to the program so if he does get a chance to move on I support him 100% and wish him nothing but the best.
  2. I didn't read it as Maravich's son contacting the tournament. He might have, but it didn't specifically say that, it said others had. If Detroit Mercy had been invited it would have been inviting a player not a team and the spectacle that goes around it. I'm glad they had the guts not to do it even though it probably would have brought them a little more money and press coverage. Davis had 5 years to break that record that Maravich set in three. Imagine what the record would have been had freshman been eligible to play back then.
  3. Funny I swear I was going to start a very similar topic but using only players from the Dambrot/Groce era. Jakubick was fantastic I did get to see him play but this is dead on the list I would have selected too. Well done.
  4. St Francis University drops all intercollegiate sports. Eventually it might only be the money making schools that continue. Sports as we know are mostly big money losers. Looks like at least one college decided the costs outweigh the benefits.
  5. Sears playing pretty well for Alabama in the tournament. Never liked Oats and this year I assume the crimson in Crimson Tide stands for murder. Want them out as early as possible.
  6. Calamity McEntire just for the name alone. 😊
  7. Awesome. I think we really missed him this year.
  8. Bawling, bawling dammit! I don't want to think about Pinky or Can't balling in any respect.
  9. Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done. πŸ˜‰
  10. Fantastic that Tribble got this recognition. Well deserved. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. At this point I'd be happy for Toledo to be top and the Zips to get a 2 or 3. Think it's the optimal bracket set up. I'm in the Phillipines right now so it's Wednesday morning. Happy ESPN+ said I wasn't allowed to watch the game in this area. 😊
  12. Zips completely control their seed. The one is still achievable but this game is critical. Lose it and the one seed is pretty much gone.

  14. Kevin Malone was way better than 1-9 on three pointers in The Office basketball episode.
  15. 13 points on 13 shots. 1-9 on three point shots.
  16. Bates is going to have Zipmares.
  17. Bates scores - Tribble not in game.
  18. Tribble still all over Bates. Zero points so far.
  19. Just to be clear Dayton is not basketball only, just FCS in football. But I get your point still pretty damn impressive for Enrique to be included on this list.
  20. Good God they're gonna hang 90 on us. Only about 30 more than our typical defense. Groce is not going to be happy.
  21. No reason to overreact to single wins and losses. It's a long season. They'll be fine.
  22. While this is way looking ahead this is applicable to all the MAC. MAC is generally assigned between an 11 and 14 seed (on occasion higher or lower but that's generally where they fall). Host cities for those seeds this year include Columbus, Greensboro, Albany, Denver, Orlando and Des Moines. Not to terrible to get to any one of them for MAC schools. Come on Zips, no west coast trips for the NCAAs this year. Let's do this. πŸ‘Š
  23. Run started when Enrique went out with his second foul.
  24. Scorching start. 🧊 😊
  25. As LeBron continues his inexorable march toward the all time NBA scoring record, I read this article about his first game. An oral history of the first 12 minutes of LeBron James’ NBA debut - https://andscape.com/features/it-took-just-12-minutes-for-lebron-james-to-put-the-nba-on-notice/ Romeo was quoted a number of times with the title of freshman, University of Akron. While LeBron will always be associated with the University, it was his teammates Romeo and Dru that started all of the recent basketball success. So while LeBron is deservedly going to get a ton of accolades when he breaks the record I wanted to acknowledge his two teammates who started the run to put us where we are today. Thank you guys.
