  1. Before this topic goes away, I just wanted to say how many times I heard the word Marshall in this game and thought about how much we miss the big guy. I do not wish schedule them any more for a few more years just for that reason.
  2. Great shots liked them all but the one of Harney walking off tbe floor with a bloodied head. Anyone know what happened and how he is? Still stunned that the refs didn't call a foul that the Zips intentionally committed at the end of the game.
  3. I'm assuming you probably meant UCF's quarterback has been projected (in some circles) to go as high as 3rd in the NFL draft. He did not get any votes in the Heisman race. You also may have been thinking that the Zips did indeed face the player who ended up third in the Heisman voting, Jordan Lynch of NIU.
  4. Would you settle for 25 in the second half? Another national game, another giant turd.
  5. What a terrible, terrible week for those associated with Akron football. Story has now been picked up on the ESPN front page. Cannot imagine the grief that Jeff Bowden is feeling. T.J. Bowden was only 23. Prayers to Jeff and the whole Bowden family.
  6. I got both Nate's and Zeke's stats directly from the Men's Basketball Media Guides on GoZips.com, but apparently I copied a few of them wrong. I fixed them, thanks for the update.
  7. I don't think anyone would hate on any these players but I think the belief that Zeke didn't make an immediate contribution is a bit of a myth probably because expectations were so high for him (as opposed to Nate who was a virtual unknown when he was recruited). For fun here are the points and rebound averages for both Nate and Zeke for their first three years. So who's who? Points and rebounds Player 1 --------- 5.3 3.9 5.9 3.8 8.5 4.7 Player 2 --------- 5.1 3.9 8.5 4.9 10.4 5.4 Pretty similar statistics for years 1 and 2 and I think demonstrates that both players made an impact during their first two years. Player 1 is Nate and Player 2 is Zeke. Both of course had awesome senior years.
  8. Loved Linhart, of course there isn't a player on that list that I didn't enjoy watching play, but I think Zeke was head and shoulders (literally and figuratively) above everyone else. The only thing he didn't do that anyone else on this list did was win MAC POY and he should have. But I find your comments on Nate interesting because all of them could apply to Zeke. No distractions at all, productive since a freshman, and a leader most especially in his senior year (just like Nate). My real criteria was that I would show up just to see Zeke play (nobody altered a game quite like he did), I never felt quite that way about Nate.
  9. And stop back in during the 2018-2019 football seasons.
  10. Correct, Boise State will get Iowa State in the championship game, while the Zips will draw South Carolina and then again three days later. Great.
  11. Zips have played a good game but they needed a great game to beat a top 25 team.
  12. Dammit another opposition rainbow three at the halftime buzzer for the second day in a row.
  13. Tragic news, if there was any coach who showed he loved what he did and was as excitable as anyone it was Alan Arrington. R.I.P coach.
  14. Last year's tournament was also run by ESPN and they had a separation on the 1st round winners and losers brackets which would mean we cannot see SMC no matter what now. And for South Carolina, if you don't want to see them twice in a week, root for the opposite to happen to them as what happens for the Zips. Although frankly, seeing them in the Diamond Head championship and then again in a few days would be OK with me. I do not want to see them in the championship consolation and then again three days later.
  15. The finishing dunk was fun too.
  16. Been waiting for one like that. So over the last several years we have wins over Fla. St (ACC), Miss St. (SEC), Big Ten (Penn St) and PAC-12 (Ore St). Biggest conference scalp we are missing is the Big-12. So who do we have next? Iowa St. Hmm.
  17. "FEED THE TREE" Favorite quote of the night.
  18. Other than missing two free throws, got to give Ibitayo some props. And on the Diggs foul on the three, Big Dog got hit on the hand exactly the same way earlier in the game with no foul called. Zips are hanging tough. Helluva game from Pat.
  19. Loved that comment "Refs are letting them play a little" - after 22 fouls have been called.
  20. Kwan Cheatham sighting
  21. Just saw some serious defense from Nick Harney and Evans is on fire! Edit: And then two quick dumb fouls from Harney.
  22. Helluva beginning, 10-0 to start the game. How you like us Prez?
  23. Domenik Hixon's first TD catch of the year just put Carolina in the playoffs.
  24. Now the page doesn't even show up any more.
  25. The speed at which those votes escalated means there was a bot at work - no way human entries were increasing it like that.
