  1. Are you saying I won't have to pay that zips zone nonsense to watch basketball?
  2. NO NO NO CM8 will settle down. Right now this is a coach issue
  3. Should have been an interference call on that pass.
  4. Sorry, but anyone on this board could do a better job today. He has one play - Chisholm straight ahead. Takes NO risks. No gimmick plays. Nothing. I hope we go 1-11, because we might be looking at 0-12
  5. If they don't start mixing it up on first down, the coach should be FIRED before 5 PM today. The play calling is absurd. They could be in this game.
  6. They marked where he went out of bounds, forward progress had the first down
  7. let me guess. The next play will be .... Chisholm straight ahead. This is getting freaking boring. At least lose in style: THROW THE BALL
  8. Does iCoach actually have any plays?
  9. Do we have TWO #8's? It appears that the punter is wearing #8, as well as CM8? Or do I need a new TV?
  10. I know it is really early, but I think we have a quarterback! This guy knows how to get the ball to the receiver.
  11. YES! I get to watch the new Lone Ranger!
  12. Does anyone know if there is any way for this old alum in New York to watch the game tomorrow?
  13. Saturday is going to be VERY interesting. Lets see what he shows in a game.
  14. I guess I didn't make myself clear. PN7 sucks. There is NO downside to CM. What can he do, lose? We already have that in PN7. I could do a better job, and I am 62 years old with a bad knee and no arm. I can still lose just as good as he can.
  15. While I believe that Moore is the better QB and better leader That statement negates the rest of your post. If we "lose" PN7, DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT.
  16. Moore should be the starter until he blows himself out of the job. 1-11 with Nicely. PN7 sucks, and I think everyone knows that. He was a replacement for a replacement. There is NO downside to starting Moore. What is the worst that can happen, 1-11? 0-12? Been there done that with PN7. Time to move on. He just does not have the arm. Sometimes you just have to take a chance. Moore could be REALLY good, and we need to find out, not leave a potential winner on the bench.
  17. I think we'll do OK, but I do think this was an anti-Akron move based on our recent performance in the tourney.
  18. THAT is what I said a few posts up! They are tired of the Zips dominating the tourney, so they are changing the rules to make us play more games in the hopes that K E N T will be a #1 seed and only have to play a worn out Zips team.
  19. “We are very excited to implement the new tournament format to better position our regular season champions and highest performing teams for success in the NCAA National Championship and other post-season tournaments,” said Brad Bates, Director of Athletics at Miami University and Chair of the MAC Council of Directors of Athletics. “We believe this change will reward teams for their body of work and strength of schedule over the course of a season and provide greater opportunity for national success.” This is simply a direct slap at Akron which has excelled in the tournament for several years while not winning the division. In other works, K E N T should have gotten the NCAA bid not Akron so we are going to fix it.
  20. By the time we get into Mac play I think Gilliam will own that spot. He just looks to me like an "enforcer", hard to describe what I mean, but he has a nice stroke, can go inside, and stands his ground. And he just sort of has that "Blake Griffin" look that says "I dare you". Again, the only time I have seen him play was in the webcast the other night, but he seems to have presence on the court. More so than any other player, except maybe the Serb.
  21. Chauncey brings something Brett McKnight never had. That is, an understanding of how to play defense. Chauncey loiters down low on weak side help. He will get plenty of rebounds, and stick backs. As for my rationale on playing Quincy as the sixth man, Q has the most versatility of any Zip to play almost all the positions. Thus, he can come in off the bench and play with strength at three, maybe four positions. I can't see this with Gilliam. This partially due to Diggs being taller (6'-6"). Although, I admit that Chauncey can play the one, the two and the three pretty well. Both Gilliam and Diggs will get a lot of minutes. Go with the hot hand. Based on what little I saw last night, Gilliam will be fighting for a starting spot. He reminds me of J Wood, and Larry Quarles back in the day. That straight up "try to go thru me" stance. I am less impressed with Q, who still seems to be all over the place. But it is early, not even the season yet, and everyone will improve.
  22. Seeing some of the new guys for the first time, I was very impressed with Gilliam. He is going to be a player for us. And Egner looks like he is coming of age. Nitro is doing what a senior is supposed to do, and I hope he keeps it up.
  23. Akron 80, Carlton 76 This team is very athletic but of course they need to get on the same page. I think that will happen. This is pre, pre, pre-season. Let me know when there is a moderator and an official game thread. Thank you.
  24. ++ Like, "Which one is the REAL game thread?" I don't know. But I don't live in Akron, I have never seen some of those players before, and the announcers were of no help at all. I was trying to figure out what was going on and who was who.
  25. It came off as a snide remark.
