At the end they acted like thugs. Hey, losing is part of the game and after the buzzer sounds you need to be a good sport. The MORE DESERVING team won. I don't ever remember us acting like that just because we lost. Someone loses every single game.

Imagine trying to make a shot against that guy? He played his ass off and as far as I am concerned he saved the game and got us to the dance.

I wish you were right, but do you really think that having wins over teams ahead of us in the standings outweighs the fact that we finished behind them in the standings? I really think our hopes rest solely on whether someone thinks that half of the teams in the MAC deserve post-season bids. I think that the selection commitees look at overall record as much as, if not more than conference record. 21 D-1 wins would be tops in the MAC of all teams not in the NCAA if we were to lose the title game. I also thinl one of the absolute largest factors is record down the stretch, so with a loss in Cleveland Saturday, Akron would still be 9-3 in their last 12. How many mid-majors with 20+ wins and not in the NCAA or NIT can say that? At tis point, though, I don't even want to say much more on this. Just win Saturday and none of this matters, at least not this year. Frankly, I don't think the NIT is out of the question even at 22-13. There just aren't that many good teams left over. Hopefully, we will NOT have to find out late Sunday night! I think we have an interesting scenario. K E N T has been considered the best team in the MAC all season, and in fact won the league and got the #1 seed. By our own prior years arguments, they should be entitled to the NCAA bid. If we win, I think they have a shot at an at large or play in, which actually opens up an NIT spot for someone. If they win, I still think there is an outside chance for a play in for us. And a better shot at the vacated NIT bid, if we lose by one point in double OT. Zeke is something of a ticket to maybe an NIT shot. There are not many true 7 footers in NCAA ball, and there won't be many left after the usual bids are given out. SO that might be an attraction for the NIT, to get better attendance. All that BS being said, we made a great run after two horrible losses, and that might be worth a bid someplace. Had we not made it to the finals, I think any post season would be out of the question. Of course, all we have to do is WIN tonight and you can just disregard everything I just said. But even if we win I suspect we might see K E N T in the dance.

No way. Need to win the MAC to extend the season. He didn't say the Big Dance. Did anyone think our defense was a tad less effective in the second half compared to the first? I doubt many on here (e.g., AZ 71) care about anything less than that Big Dance thing. However, I agree that the team should definitely be in SOMETHING now. With so many teams in the post-season (120+) you would think any mid-major with 20 wins would have it made. Shrug. Been there done that with a better team and more wins than this year. The MAC gets no respect. The DANCE is the one that counts, I would take the NIT in a heartbeat, but that is out of reach I think. Those other tourneys are really not worth much of anything. When I was listening I thought that Nik had played his last game as a Zip. Hopefully, at least three more to go.

Zeke was the key to the game, and he was excellent. But the entire team just did not defend the paint. Done.

Listen, this thread was started TONGUE IN CHEEK And I said ZEKE because all things considered he is our most DESIRABLE player, being over 7' tall and only a sophomore. So lighten up. He is the only one who actually played decent. And he missed that bunny because he was fouled and they did not call it. That being said, DJ was surrounded all night by guys a foot taller and he kept coming away with the rebound. And sank 3 pointers from the other side of the room. He WILL be in the NBA. Reminds me of Earl the Pearl, saw him destroy us back in the day.

Really, I like Zeke But last year I said DJ was going to be in the NBA and I got flamed. I am saying it again. THAT GUY IS FREAKING GREAT

Just checked the OU url, and they have a link up to "listen" to the game but not to "watch" the game. Hope this doesn't mean a radio feed only. The video feed usually comes up by game time. I'm sure it will be up. Video Link is up. Says it will begin at 7:00 Is it a free link??

I think you completely missed my point. The football players are deserting the sinking ship in droves. That might have happened with someone that would get other offers if we kept losing.

Actually, I think the most important thing is that the team is winning. IF we had a horrible season, he might think mentally that he just can't do well among a bunch of losers, and might look to move on. And move on he can. Any program in the country would jump at a chance to get him. But if we get to the Dance, Zeke will be on the floor in the Madness. That is what college BBall is all about.
