  1. WAit for it, it is about 1:50 And I have NO idea how to just embed it here.
  2. There is an old adage that you don't work on your weaknesses. You work on your strengths. If you neglect your strengths to work on your weaknesses than you wind up with no strengths. I have no idea what I just said. except that if a tennis player has a great serve and a poor backhand, he can not spend all his time working on improving his backhand. Then he will wind up with a mediocre backhand and a mediocre serve. Just feed the ball to Zeke and have him stuff it in. Right now that is our greatest strength.
  3. Here we go again. Its on TV but cant get a stream outside of Ohio. Gimmie a break
  4. It's free on channelsurfing And the audio is a good 10 seconds behind the video. What the hell is wrong with them?
  5. I just can't understand it. I can pick up my cellphone and reach someone on their cellphone at the airport in Tel Aviv But they can't match the audio and the video. Is Akron U retarded or what?
  6. Bill Turner Figures you'd know. But, yep, Bill Turner was actually drafted and played in the NBA for six years and is the only Zips player to ever play in the NBA. Played for the Zips in the 60's. Of course, Jakubick was drafted by the Cavaliers in I think 1984, but was cut and never played for them. This was back when the NBA draft lasted longer than two rounds. Well let's hope Nate is our second. Btw, I have a new feature coming out soon on ASN. It starts off with a Q&A with Nate. I'll post it soon. Donnie Williams might have had a shot too, but he tried out for the NFL instead.
  7. I absolutely refuse to pay for it. NONSENSE
  8. That's good. I doubt those people have the balls to post on here.
  9. Are you the one who runs that zips zone subscription service??? If so I have a few words for you and they are NOT Happy Birthday.
  10. Thats about 4000 more than we get for football LOL.
  11. I gave up on the Zips Zone subscription service and so far have seen just about every game on channelsurfing or the OTHER schools feed. Akron needs to do better on game access.
  12. Thanks for posting that. The internet feed does not show much detail. That first dunk by Zeke in the highlights was just about as good as any I have ever seen. This team should get better every game.
  13. So right now, he is averaging 20 ppg in the MAC Of course that won't hold up (maybe), but the MAC will sit up and take notice... His first outing this season against MAC level competition was very impressive. The other teams have something to be afraid of. How do you defend a 7 footer when your biggest guy is 2 or 3 inches shorter - and Zeke is turning out to be athletic.
  14. Since no one is posting. How about that Zeke? Damn, he made some nice dunks. And blocks. And rebounds.
  15. And KD sent the original LeBron straight to the NBA. Maybe this kid would like a big time coach for his college career. http://www.komonews.com/home/video/111892554.html AS LONG AS HE DOES NOT END UP AT Can't OR OU.
  16. It was an exciting game to watch, absolutely. The Zips still are prone to those long scoring droughts, which struck twice in the second half evaporating 16 and 10 point leads. It was more drastic with Abreu on the bench with foul trouble. His ability to create plays will only get better, and it's hard to believe he's only played 14 college games. The chemistry with Zeke and the others will be fun to watch over the next couple years. Speaking of Zeke...that block on the dunk was about the most fantastic defensive play I've ever seen in person. I didn't think there was any way to recover as the offensive player blew by him but boy did he. I really hope that shows up in the highlights on youtube. The crowd from that point fed the Zips for the next 5 or 6 minutes, it was as loud in there (with 2,000 people) as I've ever heard it. It reminded me of the fact that if we ever average 4500-5000 fans a game and 75% of them didn't sit on there hands, what a home court advantage we'd have. Back in the 1960s we used to fill Memorial Hall to the rafters to take on such basketball giants as Philadelphia Textile and Kentucky Wesleyan. It is nothing but embarrassing that you can only get 2000 for a Div 1 game against an opponent that everyone has heard of - to say nothing of the fact that the Zips have become a perennial post season team. SHAME.
  17. He must be closing in on that record. And as far as AA, WOWOWOWOWOWOW. This is the first true ATHLETE that the Zips have had that U can remember. He will mature and play smarter. But I hope he keeps playing with abandon. Ditto for Diggs. He made a very bad decision on the break, but it is so nice to have a guy on the floor who can make things happen.
  18. Yup, it came up late, I think the game had started.
  19. Is looking amazing. He does have an NBA hook shot. Just turn him into a scoring machine.
  20. Don't see anything on channelsurfing Is there a link anyplace?
  21. Do you want him to play more or shoot less?
  22. That was awesome. They REALLY need to turn him loose. I truly understand about teamwork and all that. But when the next tallest guy on the floor is 5 inches shorter than him, just get him the ball and let him put it home. That was the formula when Alcindor and even Wilt were in college. Coach, you need to play the hand you are dealt. Small opponents = feed Zeke. He could do 40 points against a small team, how could they stop him?
  23. Is anyone else able to watch through Zipszone? Mine just says Please Stand By. I don't know why I pay for this. I gave up paying for it this year. In past years we got the "please stand by" all the time. They when we were lucky enough to get video, there was no audio! And listening on 1350 while watching on zips zone was like 30 seconds out of synch! And to add insult to injury. they had some juvenile working the cameras and every time there was a free throw the screen went to GOZIPS or some nonsense and I did not see a free throw for three years. Repeated complaints never brought any response. So F@#& THEM. Not paying for it any more. And on another note, while I can see them charging for it locally to encourage people to come out to the games, I live 500 miles away. They are not bashful about asking the alumni for donations. Maybe they should think about doing something to keeps the alums involved. Like giving them streaming video of games! It is just so pathetic that the Horizon League, home of such giant first class universities as Youngstown and Cleveland State and Detroit can provide free quality streaming video and the MAC, home of OU Miami and other name brand schools can not.
  24. Best damn game of the year and I can't watch it!
  25. I just came up looing for an internet link too. Nothing on Channelsurfing as of yet
