Just turned it on. Looking a little sloppy, but much more athletic than in recent years. It feels SO good to be leading and not getting blown out. Damn iCoach THIS IS AMAZING There is AUDIO and it is even in synch with the video! Who screwed up and got the audio and video on the same channel?

Is it "possible" that JD not only left after a horrible year, but also failed to do any proper recruiting? I mean, is it possible that iCoach got screwed by fate - after all, we didn't have a QB last year, so what do we have this year? The same PN who could not play last year? After they had to put an ad in the paper begging for anyone with QB experience to come forward (laughingstock of the entire country by the way) they could not go out and find someone anyplace to play QB for us? This just reminds me of when I came to Akron in the fall of 1967. We were coming off GREAT basketball seasons (read Turner, Williams and a game against a guy named "the pearl") and there were NO replacements. We were HORRIBLE. The strategy was SLOW DOWN and try to win 2 - 0. Of course that didn't work. I think the coach was Tony Laterza (or maybe not, it was a long time ago, most of youse were not a gleam in your fathers eye yet), and the AD was Red Cochrane (I think). But the next year we got a new coach, Wyatt Webb??? And a new cast of players - suddenly there was LEN PAUL and LARRY QUARLES and JINX JENKINS. And a trip to Evansville. And eventual D1 league play. And the unforgettable Harvey Glover (WHO??). The point I think I am trying to make is simply this: Is iCoach a total failure, or is he eating JDs' shit for not recruiting any quality players?

iCoach has an opportunity to make history....

I just have to say.... What the hell kind of a program can't televise a game on it's PAID service, but I can watch it for free on Channelsurfing? The entire administration of this athletic program sucks. I am a grad who lives in New York, for years I have paid to see/hear games, and what do they give me for the money? LESS THAN I CAN GET ON SPORTSRADIO 13560 and CHANNELSURFING FOR FREE!!!!! If you want to build a program you need to get people involved STARTING with the alumni, who have resources to contribute money and travel to home games. But in this day and age they can't even get PAID TV coverage right. And I am talking about b-ball as well. Just freaking amazing. Rant over, see ya next year. -
We NEED good basketball!

That's a fake video. It is really Bart Starr. No wait, it's Johnny Unitas. That guy is going to play for someone in the NFL if he stays healthy. No way is he going to choose Akron. Maybe The Ohio State University.
-
Spot on. As soon as he had it, he should have been ruled down. Did the Zips radio announcers mention it? He obviously tried pushing it out of the end zone, but that doesn't change that he had control of the ball with both knees down. Why wouldn't Ianello at least challenge that????? Exactly correct. Bonehead play, blown call.
-
I was watching on channelsurfing, and they did some re-plays. He actually recoverec the fumble, was down with it in his possession, and he attempted to shove it across the goal line! This was one of the bonehead moves of all time, and if they had challenges he would have been ruled down. Stupid stupid play for a Div 1 quarterback, and a blown call by the officials.

MCL sprain. Out 2-4 weeks

There was another guy in Akrons' past who had some HS "difficulties" and ended up with the Zips. His name was Len Paul. The rest is history. (And anyone who ever saw him play knows he could have played ANYPLACE).

I had that class in an auditorium on TV at 8AM They gave us the test to take home on Thursday, then gave us the same test on Friday. I didn't pass either. Did get some of the best sleep of my life.

So are we going to win any games this year?

Maybe you should pull your head out..! (just kidding, hehe) Read any of my posts and make that your poll. 2010 On another pole note, I know several lovely Cant cheerleader lasses moonlighting as Pole-dancers if anybody has an upcoming birthday/bachelor party. After last year, I just don't have faith! Now I was there in the time of Danny Ruff and Jack Beidelman. And the Grantland Rice Bowl and some guy named Bradshaw. Glory is possible, but fleeting. -
I was there when some of those pictures were taken! I personally replaced that piece of crap diving board the young lovelies are on with a Duroflex board in 1968. Which I guess makes us classmates. At least, we were in class at the same time. Do the name Dr. Sam Shelby ring a bell? How about Artie Romedo?

Maybe I should make it a poll.

Having just had arthroscopic on my knee 3 months ago, I can state quite sadly that his career is probably over. It is REALLY hard to come back from an ACL, especially for a WR/KR who needs to be able to cut. Get well Hix. This Giants/Zips fan will miss you!

Butler has a bulldog, can we get a real kangaroo?

If it can block we should get one. Anything to help the football team. -
looked like a knee-on-knee hit. Terrible pain at first, but usually goes away...Although sometimes (see: Sergei Gonchar getting hit by Ovechkin in the NHL playoffs last year for the hockey fans out there) those hits end up in torn ligaments too. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it looked. It WAS an ACL. Too bad, that can be a career ender, the surgery is not always successful (in regards to a high level athlete, it works OK for common folks doing common tasks). Bone bruises too. I had that too. Man, that hurts. As soon as I saw the way he reacted, I knew it was an ACL. It hurts that much. Probably a torn meniscus too (they seem to go together) , but that they can fix pretty easy.
-
Speaking of Butler, what a shame what happened to Butler of West Va. Looks to me like ACL. That could be a career ender. As I sit here recovering from knee surgery two weeks ago. Believe me, I felt his pain.

I would love to see a mid-major win the National Championship.

Guess we aren't the only ones struggling with OU's guards

How much, though. Something trivial like $5k per school? Can't's sweet 16 credits are set to expire and unless OU can win their next game it still means a reduction in NCAA money. About $125,000 per school per round. The payout from the Elite Eight run expired a couple years ago. But is that divided amongst all of the schools in the conference or is it what each school gets? If it is the former, VMD was not far off. Like I said, per school. Each unit (or game played) was only $222,206 last year per conference. Unless you are talking about the aggregate over the 5-year period, that isn't close to $125K per school NCAA.org source Click on link "Current Basketball Revenue Distribution Information" By that chart, the entire conference has gotten $222,206 each year (since we only have gotten one post season unit each year). That is a far cry from $12k per school. In fact, divide it by 12 members and it's $18,700 each school. -
Zeke has to learn to put the ball into the basket. Having a seven footer in the middle does you no good if he consistently misses bunnies. Too many missed dunks and layups. I like what he was doing in the end of the season with those jump shots. Those are basically a bunny for him. We need 15 PPG from him to be successful. We have three more years of Zeke, build the offense around him. When he gets it underneath it needs to be a gimmie. And ZEKE, hold onto the ball and keep it up high! And MRS M. PLEASE START FEEDING THAT KID. HE NEEDS ANOTHER 25 OR 30 POUNDS ON HIM. It wouldn't hurt for MRS M (whoever that is) to kick in with meals also. But Ms. B aka "Momma Zeke" (see link) might want to get the 1st crack at it! Link That's who I meant. Silly me to assume that Zeke Marshalls mother would be Mrs. Marshall ALRIGHTY then..ZIPFAM...Uuuuhhmmmm...legally my last name is BOZEMAN. Marshall is my "former" married name...LOL:) Gotta love u guys!! Soooo..in response to all of you gourmet chefs out here who insist I feed Zeke...just remember this: 1. I don't live in Akron 2. His meal plan does not cover the 2500 calorie A DAY diet plan that Coach D insist he does 3. He doesnt drink beer (so thats out)... 4. A person can only drink so much muscle milk before they begin to revolt.... 5. He burns the calories he takes in...before it even hits his stomach......If we all could have THIS PROBLEM...what a wonderful and skinny world this would be Soooo in conclusion...Zeke will not be coming home for the summer, as he will be there doing EVERYTHING u guys have been asking him to do all season....GAIN SOME WEIGHT...muscle that is!! I'm crackin myself up here... Ya come back now...ya hear!! Gotta love those Beverly Hillbillies!!! How about if I send him a few thousand bagels with cream cheese. I won't miss them anyway. Maybe I can give him some of my overweight.
