The Collegiate Basketball News Men's RPI College Basketball Ratings Through games of Sun., December 5, 2010 INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - The Rating Percentage Index (RPI) has been used by the NCAA since 1981 to supplement the selection of at-large teams and the seeding of all teams for the NCAA basketball tournament. This list is an independent duplication of the RPI without input from the NCAA, which does not release the RPI to the public. It is derived from three component factors: Div. I winning percentage (FI, 25%), schedule strength (FII, 50%); and opponent's schedule strength (FIII, 25%). Different weights are given to the location of the game for both the winner and loser of the game. Games against non-Division I opponents are not used in calculating the RPI. Coach still has to design the game around the players he has, but it was an impressive outing against the NIT champ at their arena. We have nothing to be ashamed of. GREAT game by Nitro. Euton is going to be a star. Zeke showed some nice bball moves - shooting and some IMPRESSIVE passing. This is going to be a very good year.

That is true and many schools including much bigger basketball powers than Univ of Akron do the same thing. It has to do with a combination of getting rid of exhibitions against Industrial teams and the different start dates of the seasons for different levels of schools. Ahha, now I understand. I look forward to future explanations by the Dr. You know, in past seasons we were always something of a disorganized rabble in the "pre-season". I am VERY impressed with these two games. While the opponents are not D-1 class in any way, our guys seemed to be playing as a TEAM, and showing all kinds of ability. In the past, the coach had to get them all on the same page. This year it really looks like we have some TALENT. I do not think it is impossible that we could break into the top 25 at some point this year. We do have the players.

This is like when we play Penn State in Football. Short of a sudden illness that results in a forfeit, there was never a chance in hell that a D III team with the tallest player at 6.6 was not going to get blown out. Nevertheless, it is fun! Supposed to be pre-game at 7:00, here is it 7:25 and no game or anything on 1350!!! What is THAT all about? Could this place be any worse? Once again, Akron Athletics are a bad joke.

With their lack of height Zeke could score 50 if they want to play it that way. Because a 6.6 guy is NOT going to stop Zeke from dunking an Alley Oop on every play.

I know that JC was a very inferior team, but last year we had a history of choking against inferior teams. I like what I saw. We have some guys who can PLAY Biggest thing they have to do is settle down and make those layups. Missed layups and dunks (ZEKE) KILLED us last year. If we can make the easy buckets, I think we may have ourselves a real team this year (and maybe the next two as well)!

I think it should be mandatory now to show up to games with the bags on our heads. What is yours going to say? I'm thinking about 'Wistrcillized'? Ianell-NO? Worst D-1 team in the country!!!!
