  1. I think we are in control of our own destiny. If we run the table, we can't do worse than.... And we could be #1
  2. Is that good for us or bad??? I guess there is no way to get that auto NIT bid? Well, if we win the next two I think we will get a bid someplace regardless.\ That would be what, 9 in a row? Someone has to notice.
  3. Is yours in sync with the video? I have had sound for most of the games but it hasn't been in sync for a couple of weeks. Way out of synch, but closer than listening on 1350. Are you paying, I got it on channelsurf. I am still a sap that pays for it. I gave up paying them. Almost as many games can be watched for free. And their feed is horrible.

  5. They have audio on the video feed (so far). Someone screwed up.
  6. I think Nik will be first team. He has played amazing.
  7. It is listed but it is the wrong game!
  8. Channelsurf.eu is back up Maybe?
  9. Damn. We are just going to have to win the tournament.
  10. channelsurf.eu is starting to come back. Has a few college games. Maybe by this weekend..
  11. We're going to need somebody to step up at the 4-spot. My guess would be: PG: Abreu SG: Gilliam, Walsh, Justice, Peterson, Ibitayo SF: McClanahan, Diggs, Treadwell, Harney, Green PF: Egner, Euton, Oldham, C: Marshall I think I have everybody. But that's with all the players playing their ideal positions. Obviously one or two of the SGs will have to put in time at PG and some of the PFs will have to fill in at C. We don't really play strict roles with our positions and in the middle you could switch around the Forwards and SGs as the situation warrants. It's good to be really deep at the 2s 3s and 4s. Kyle might actually get to play? He made a darn nice looking shot the other day...
  12. And IF we get to the NCAA, and IF he plays GREAT, well people do watch that, and someone could whisper in his ear......
  13. IF he was to play another year and develop further, he "could" have a shot at the NBA draft. THAT is an awful lot more money than they pay in Serbia. Probably that is the only way he would ever stay - if he thought there was even an outside shot at the NBA.
  14. The Zips are #23 IN THE NATION in 3 points shots made per game. Play to your strengths, exploit the other teams weakness.
  15. If they run the table and make a strong showing in the tournament, they might just might have a shot at an at large or play in OK, I am dreaming.
  16. Watched most of the game. The way we played the other night we would have blown out either of them. KE N T does not show any outside shooting.
  17. The most recent post was 2/1 I think we have won at least three straight since then. The RPI ratings are now almost identical. Should be a good game.
  18. Lets not get carried away just because they played a really really really really really great game.
  19. OK, if I am seeing this right: We run the table K E N T loses one more game beside against us. Miami loses two games - one to us Then it is up to the tiebreakers to win the MAC???? The fact that it is even still possible is amazing. We were under .500
  20. YES I think Does that make us one game behind or two? The K E N T game is shaping up as a biggie
  21. In 1967-68 season, the only holdover was Sloan. The team was HORRIBLE. They actually tried to win games 2-0 by holding the ball the entire game playing for one shot. Didn't work of course. But they were THAT bad. And the next year, I think is when we got Len Paul and EVERYTHING CHANGED. I wish he was playing for us now, we would probably get to the Madness. He was really something else to watch.
  22. A few years ago, the NY Football Giants played the last game of the season against an undefeated New England team. The Giants already had the Wild Card, and could not go any higher. Here in NY, there was a lot of speculation that the coach would just go thru the motions, not risking any key player to injury in view of the wildcard game the following week. Well, you may recall, the Giants played to win. Hixon (familiar name?) ran one back for a TD against UNBEATABLE N.E. and the Giants played GREAT and almost pulled off the upset of the decade. And a few weeks later, they were in the Superbowl against the same UNBEATABLE N.E. and they indeed pulled off the upset of the decade! So the moral of the story is this: This is NOT a meaningless game for the Zips. They are on a streak, and you use the game to get better, win or lose. MUST keep that winning attitude going forward. When you are on a roll you don't lie down, you fight for every point. It makes you better for the next game.
  23. I too am old enough to remember the old glory days of college division basketball at "akron U" ! mideast regionals, sometimes at home, games televised on TV 49, Bob Wylie calling the barnburners on radio sponsored by the Firestone Bank, and names like Len Paul, Will Schwartzinger, Harvey Glover, and others. They were great times but realistically I cant say they would have "destroyed later day zip teams. This years team perhaps, but still they built their 25 win seasons with wins over northern Michigan, Indaian PA, muskingum, Tiffin, etc. Not exactly world beaters. Im not criticising those teams, nor am I criticizing Hip Zip, but it reminds me of times people have said Mount Union could kill a mac school in football. I just dont buy it. Me Too!!! HARVEY GLOVER I beat him in bowling. He was not much of a BB player either. Big, but a little awkward. Great guy, though. Not stuck up at all. Remember there was NO dunking in those days, not even in practice. Our guys were not that tall, as I recall, but the no dunk rule took the big man out of the picture a little bit as compared to today. We did have some really good players. Paul, Henry, Sloan, Jenkins, Quarrels (Sloan was class of '68 and did not play with the rest of these guys). But we were Div II and never went all the way, so to think they could have beat todays team is a pipe dream. You see what we do to Div II teams. However, they were some great times. And unlike today, the fans cared and FILLED Memorial Hall. I remember standing many times. And in that place it was like having an extra guy on the court.
