Sorry, I do not get all this redshirt stuff. Players are transferring out. Players get jammed up (AA and Tree are perfect examples). We have been blown out in every game and we are saving people for the future?

I was never on board with Bowden being fired. Yes, he had a bad end of season. To replace a coach with a national championship on his resume with an unknown is just dumb. That is my opinion and I am sticking with it.

It is not gloom and doom. It is a reality check. People are fawning over players who we have never seen step onto the Court.

I think we should see them play before making predictions like this. OR, If you can truly see the future do you have the winning Lotto numbers for next week?

I do respect what you are saying, but at this point people need to vent. The negative energy on this team does not come from this board. Far from it. It comes from whatever is going on in the coaches office. And we all appreciate your good work here.

Respectfully I must disagree with you. TB took over a "team" that was a total disaster. As in NO WINS, last in the NCAA. So that first year was not his blame, iCoach was to blame. Arth took over a team that had won games and been to bowls in the past few years. Were they really good? NO BUT, at the end of last year, was there any indication that with TB we would have gone 0-12? NO The fact is that this guy is a horrible hire. We have been blown out in 5 games. Receivers are left wide open. That is coaching. Players are deserting the team, with no guarantee they will get a scholarship offer elsewhere. THAT is the coach. Didn't we win 4 games last year? That is NOT good. However, it is not even close to what we are now. This is NOT a rebuilding year, if so we would win 4 or 5 games based on what TB left us with. NOPE This is a coach that is NOT a D1 coach, and has a staff that is NOT a D1 staff. Probably part of the University Master Plan to save money by dropping football.

That is very sad if true. The collapse at the end of last season was due to an injury to Kato. I would much rather be a regular 6-5, 5-6 team forever than be 0-11 and listed as the WORST.

No comment until we see these new guys play. We have been down this path before. Highly touted recruits who never make it into a game.

Bowden won some games, got us a bowl, got us into a MAC champ game. This guy has gotten us the WORST TEAM IN D1 Title on only 5 weeks. Sorry, this is a bad joke. The players are leaving because, lets face it, anyplace is better than this place. They should just fire him today and appoint an interim coach. Enough of this nonsense.

Are the rats deserting the sinking ship, or is there a problem with the coach and players. Wouldn't these guys be better off playing out the season and trying to get some impressive highlights to increase their value?

Possibly my junior year was the one he was on campus but did not play. It was a long long time ago in a place far far away. I was a hoops nut. Went to every home game and many away games. I recall going to Toledo. We go our asses kicked. And Randy Smith vs Len Paul was a real treat.Buffalo State was HUGE. They also beat us up pretty good.

This is incorrect. I left Akron in June 1971. I saw him play. At least one full season, possibly two. As I recall the first year he was on campus he "chose" not to play - got this from someone who was in his class and was friends with him. Of course, there may have been other reasons. But this is my recollection.

How can the worst team in the NCAA worry about burning a redshirt? The way this is going there is no future.

Someone should correct their graphic. Larry Jenkins played way before 1971. I know for a fact because I was gone from Akron in June 1971 and for sure I saw him play for probably at least two years.

If they could not get minutes on the worst D1 team in the NCAA where do they think they are getting offers? OTOH, they may be a coach problem.
