I agree. Just making the point that he probably left because he only played 112 minutes all season. As a Zip, he will play no minutes next season.

It was just posted that we got Eric Hester. Sits a year, but he was a really high prospect out of High School.

Was recruited by some good teams, was a backup last year. But now he sits a year. Not sure how that makes sense for him. Good for us.

This past year they just didn't seem to want it bad enough.

In 1966 we almost went all the way in D2, and had an All American (Bill Turner) who played in the NBA. In 1967 we were horrible. Not just bad, horrible. There was no shot clock, and they actually played a game where they scored and then tried to stall the rest of the game! In 1968 the new coach was Wyatt Webb, and he found Len Paul and Jinx Jenkins and Larry Quarles. The rest is history, some of the best years of Akron Hoops ever, trips to the D2 championships. This is possibly going down as a rebuilding year, but I see good years ahead.

Had KD stayed, I agree, we seemed headed for a down year. But with the new coach and new blood, who knows.

I am going to remain optimistic. Other MAC teams also lost starters. JG seems to be out there recruiting good prospects. No worse than 3rd on the season, with a possible poor OOC season as the individuals learn to be a team.

Just so I understand... We got a 6-11 center and a 6-4 guard! We're bacccckkk. Don't count out 2017 just yet.

And as always we are back to this. KD's teams were able to win the MAC and get to the Conference finals, but not do much of anything else. No NCAA win, never won that "big" game against a ranked team. Time for a change.

I don't even know who Swiech is. Probably before the Zips got an actual video feed LOL. I understand all that is being said. But like someone said, you can not teach height. And in the videos he does seem to have some moves and be able to jump. Zeke was a bit of a Klutz his first two years, and was always more of a defender than an offensive player. Still one of our greats of course. And it was I who called BD a boat anchor. OK, I eat those words. But this guy seems pretty athletic. And yes, I also wonder how a guy this size can not be on the radar. It is strange.
