And that's that.

I am totally with you Cap. Only one game, against a low level D1 team. But he looks like the real deal, the piece of the puzzle we have been missing for years, a tall athletic guard who can control himself on the court. K-Lac is the future center. I do not see him like Bardo at all. Poke is exciting, but he comes with a price - 5 fouls. I would really like to see him improve his game, he is freaky athletic. There is going to be a lot of competition for minutes in the front court. Speaking of which, in past years we have always been hurting at PG. For the first time in forever we seem well stocked with big, athletic guards. The sky is NOT falling, this has the potential to be a pretty good team. BTW, I have to harken back to 1967. In the Turner/Williams years, we had some really great D2 teams. They were all gone when I get there in September 1967, we had one returning starter, Jerry Sloan. We were HORRIBLE. The following year they hired Wyatt Webb to coach, he came up with quality players like the great Len Paul, Larry Jinx Jenkins, Larry Quarles etc. We were great again. We are in a way better position. We have quality players, they have to mature and learn to play together.

Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot

I don't have a problem that he broke his contract and left. That is a matter for the lawyers. I have a problem that he took players and recruits with him. They were recruited on the University's money, and are the "property" of UA. Not that they are slaves or indentured servants, I do not mean to imply that, but he used UA funds to recruit them and then took them with him. UA gave him a second chance when his career was dead (which in todays climate it would have remained dead). And he repaid them by taking players and recruits and leaving us nothing. It shows what type of person he really is. -
I think you were watching a different game. Do you realize we have a 6'6" freshman guard WHO SCORED 17 POINTS IN HIS FIRST GAME ????? Seriously dude, I like Sayles he has a great future but the STAR of this game was PARRISH. When was the last time the Zips had a 6'6" GUARD who could PLAY? If only we had that in some of our post season appearances. BTW, Cotton needs to get a haircut. Yeah I know blah blah blah he looked like a girl! No one who plays sports and has hair like that takes themselves seriously.

Patience grasshopper. This years Zips are tall AND athletic, something we have not seen. Traitor Dambrot took us are far as HE could go, NOT as far as WE can go. Buckle in, this year is going to be an interesting ride.

Me too! Our smallest guard is 5'8". He is a redshirt and who knows if he will every play for us. Meanwhile our starting guards are 6'5". 6'4", 6'6". No more of the little guy nonsense. I will give you Dunn-Worthless. And throw in Hughes. -

Everyone needs to just shut up about him. He is a traitor who walked out on a contract and took half the team with him. Maybe he did us a favor. Groce came up with some nice recruits. -
The sky is not falling. In fact, we will lose some games we should not, but we have a very athletic group and will be fine.

I think Sayles is going to get some playing time!

We are so screwed.

Hoops on Saturday.

Miami vs. OU - Tonight @ 8pm on ESPN2

Oh woe is me. Oh woe is me. We can beat both of them. -
You suppose correctly. I will save my screams for Akron Hoops.
-
Yup, and hillary won by 7 points. Lets at least play one game before we play taps.
-
So a team with only one returning starter, a new coach, and a bunch of other guys who have never played together didn't look that good in their first scrimmage. And everyone has decided we will have a horrible season based on this? Probably the same guys who wanted to fire Bowden (who is probably on the way to another bowl game and has a good shot to take the MAC East). Oh well. WE ARE AKRON.

From Wikipedia: Mid-American Conference[edit] The division winners are guaranteed a bowl berth. 2017[9]: The Dollar General Bowl (traditionally conference champion, if not Group of Five team) versus Sun Belt The Camellia Bowl versus Sun Belt The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl versus Mountain West The Bahamas Bowl versus C-USA Secondary Agreements The Boca Raton Bowl if either the American or C-USA cannot fill their contracted slot The Quick Lane Bowl if either the ACC or Big 10 cannot fill their contracted slot. The Frisco Bowl if the American can't fill their slot.

I did not do a spreadsheet, but I think if we beat the winner of OU/Miami and beat Kent State we have an automatic bid as the Division winner. If we win one we are Bowl Eligible, but any two out of three should be 99.9% for a bid. If Miami wins and beats us, the entire picture changes, and not for the better.

There is audio on the MAC feed.

But they do have the hot chick referee!
-
NOT on CBS and so far no audio

Will there be any TV or ESPN on Sunday?

He has to get a job before he can start playing Sunday.

As I posted below, the Giants lost 4 receivers to injury yesterday. Might be a phone call there for Lane or Natson?
-
OBJ out for the season and 4 Giants WR's got hurt today. Is it possible that Lane will be getting a call????
