With all due respect, that is a repetition of what I head incessantly during the Lee Owens era. Captain Kangaroo in another forum (he started) talks about having to leave the WMU game early. Captain was generous in going to the game in the first place. It is credit to him and all other ZipNationeers/fans who can go to these games. These folks show that the base is there if it gets built (ref: Field of Dreams).All signs indicate to me that JD is not a builder. But I am willing to wait another two years. It was the contract extension that got me. It makes me think that Rhoades does not have very good judgment.I hope I am wrong about JD & MR. Time is awasting. With the extension we could be looking at another 7 years of excuse making.I am not labeling anyone a die-hard supporter at this juncture. Die-hard support will not kick-in for another two years, if ever. There is a big difference beween not living up to expectations, and sucking.This year we sucked. Too many penalties, bad calls, and bad coaching.

You guys are funny! Is JD on the right track? One title, two winning seasons in 3 years, a bowl appearance and the top recruiting class in the conference two straight years. I cannot believe how quickly he spoiled all of you. As discussed on other threads, those recruiting classes were top rated based on many players that never qualified. Of the guys that qualified, I don't even know if we are in the middle of the pack.

The problem with JD recruiting is what I have been saying for the last 2 years.Many people rate a class by hoy many stars the rating system gives them. Then they take the average stars and rate the class baased off of that.The higher ranked players that JD gets are mostly never going to be elegible. He takes them because the bigger schools won't waste a scholly on them. They are happy to have an offer and commit to Akron.Then they never make it. Well, that high ranked class that UA had is now minus all of the higher ranked players that made it highly ranked. So what we are left with is an average class. Sure other schools do this too. However, we have a much worse percentage than most of the top end recruits. Of the 5-7 that don't make it at UA, most of them are the higher ranked guys.A perfect example is Mark Jackson. Last year he commited to Akron. No big schools offered him because of grades. Now he has gone to prep school and got the grades, and the big schools are after him. He won't even give Akron a sniff now.If you rate our class after they are eligible, I tink you will find JD isn't that great of a recruiter.This season hasn't helped the cause one bit either.
