  1. It looked like we were running our old 3-3-5 defense today! Well, the band sounded good.
  2. ^ I'd seriously rather hear that song at the Info instead of the outdated "Dad Rock" from 30 years ago lol.
  3. I want to think that UA is already making plans to capitalize on the publicity.
  4. Didn't get a chance to see the Charger game today, but the fans are absolutely amped that J. Brown is getting more playing time.
  5. Classy post. You guys at Marshall have a great fan base. Good luck the rest of the way!
  6. These folks make a hell of a lot of money to be so disconnected and clueless. I'm still waiting for a halfway decent school-coordinated event for the basketball team during the MAC tourney...someday maybe....
  7. What was problematic? The forum was just starting to get interesting.
  8. chargerpower71 • 2 minutes ago Thanks for the article, LOVE Jatavis!!!! He plays with a fire you gotta appreciate the kid. One point of contention though, Akron is a D-I University with enrollment of 25,177. So not exactly a "small" school.
  9. I've always kinda hated the "Akron" font. It reminds me of Div III
  10. Jatavis Brown Relishes Flying Under the Radar Tuesday, May 31, 2016 3:02 PM PDT The situation is a familiar one for Jatavis Brown. It is also one proven to bring out the best in him. The majority of talk around the Chargers draft revolved around Joey Bosa andHunter Henry, which is typical for any team’s top two draft picks. Many also wanted to know about Derek Watt and Drew Kaser, as few fullbacks and punters get selected each season, as well as players from power conferences such as USC’s Max Tuerk, Ohio State’s Joshua Perry and Michigan State’s Donavon Clark. http://www.chargers.com/news/2016/05/31/jatavis-brown-relishes-flying-under-radar
  11. Dr. Proenza deserves much of the blame for the school's financial troubles. We need someone in the interim who can right the ship, not bash more holes in it.
  12. The Wolstein is an example of very poor urban design. I'm not saying it's the only reason its been failing miserably; there's certainly some other factors. But it's indicative of how you have to build the right building to match the surrounding environment. This facility was built in an outdated, suburban model that wasted tons of space. The design didn't provide any semblance of residential or retail amenities along the street. These two components, residential and retail, would have generated revenues for the property instead of creating what is essentially a lifeless dead zone. Now the blocks around CSU are finally being revitalized with new housing, restaurants, theaters etc. and instead of being a catalyst for more positive development, it's instead a financial and physical impediment to growth. It was big mistake.
  13. Seems ridiculous to read that LaDainian was only at 4 pro bowls.
  14. I'm guessing that with air rights, etc. broadcasting the actual game is a non starter. But to invite them just to do a live show to tailgate before and during the game would be great. They do remote broadcasts at bars all the time.
  15. Tell that to the University of Akron, which buys plenty of ad space on local sports radio.
  16. Has the school EVER invited WKNR or 92.3 The Fan to broadcast at Infocision? Seems like a no-brainer idea.
  17. Chargers take speedy Akron linebacker Jatavis Brown was MAC's defensive player of the year By Tom Krasovic | Chargers draftee Jatavis Brown is a speedy, versatile linebacker --- traits that are increasingly popular in the pass-happy NFL. Brown has 4.52 speed in the 40-yard dash, identical to Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, the 15th pick last year. As a weakside linebacker, Brown amassed huge tackling numbers for Akron. He had 12 sacks last year and was named Mid-American Conference defensive player of the year. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2016/apr/30/chargers-jatavis-brown-akron-draft/
  18. I'd like to see Akron get more name recognition in the very populated Northeast. We could be an attractive option for East Coasters since college and overall standard of living there tends to be much more expensive.
  19. Indeed they did! And like I always say, the JAR looked very photogenic on the tv set.
  20. 12 point lead with 6:18 left. LETS GO ZIPS
  21. Two missed layups in a row...... Come on Zips!!!!!
  22. I love the Chargers. Chase is awesome. I really hope he lands in San Diego. Unless they leave for LA, then they're dead to me haha
