Congrats to Maryland today, I hope they go on to win the Championship. I said in an earlier post that I think todays game should have been the Championship game. Regardless of whether we would have run the table and became National Champions, I have a problem with the NCAA as an association. We are not the first school to get snubbed by seedings in postseason, but the NCAA is truly a sham. Texas ran up 70 points in football today, followed by USC blowing out UCLA. Why? Because in order to secure your place for the national championship, that is what you have to do. Read below.....the purpose and values of the NCAA. Is this remotely consistent with what you see in college sports? The big schools and conferences already have advantages with facilities, MONEY, support, etc. How is the NCAA "strengthening the identity of member institutions" and creating a "fair" and "equitable" competition. I don't see it. What a bunch of bologna. Sour grapes.......I know.

Just got back from College Park. Dissappointing finish but what a game. Great representation from the Zip fans. Some Maryland fans behind me said they have never seen so many fans from the opposing team at their stadium. I dont want to sound like sour grapes but this game should have been for the National Championship. These are the two best teams in the country and the seeding should have had them playing this much later. Congrats to the team, you made us proud.

I said before and I am going to say it again. We MUST lock up JD. Mike Thomas is already gone, Ken Lolla is signed for 5 years. We must keep good people! Build a 15-20k seat stadium with room for expansion. Put the money in the people!

MAC EAST CHAMPS in Football! Soccer team has a legit shot at the NATIONAL CHAMIONSHIP! Basketball looks promising.. Facilities are spectacular, campus looks beautiful, hopefully more to come. See yall in Detroit And to those that went to the game today

I am booking my flight, hope to see a lot of Zip fans at the (I cannot believe I am writing this) MAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Congrats ALL!

I don't think there are any storms or tornados forecasted........... We are playing a hated rival............. There are Championship implications(which everyone has said was needed for good attendance) TV Coverage(granted ESPNU) It's late now......the game is early I HOPE THE WHOLE F'ING CITY OF AKRON knows what is going on and GOES TO THE GAME!!! If there is a crowd supporting the team, IT IS A GUARANTEED WIN! If not, the players are doing it for themselves as usual. I will find a bar covering the game with MY throwback jersey on and work the house. 8K is my prediction and more grilling from the ESPN announcers.

I hope JD explains this game is more important than a rivalry. Buchtelite

So now that we understand.......it is prediction time. Zips crush Cant Toledo beats BGSU - Toledo has something to play for, they win Ohio loses to Miami - Ohio has nothing to play for, Miami keeps us out again.

7k attendance would have not changed if it were 70 and clear. History shows us that. Here is a provident idea for you just to show I am not myopic...........When televising a Zip football game, move the cameras to visiting side so it at least looks like there are people there. If that is not an option - move the fans, band, and team to the other side of the field so the cameras see the 7k. There are no differences in the sidelines.

I got to see some of the game tonight thanks to the MU/BGSU delay. What I saw.... Getsy looks great, Biggs is an animal, D looks tough and as expected the Akron community is somewhere else. Just got done fielding calls from my buds chastising me about the crowd. What can you say? Why would anyone consider building a new stadium? I wont get started again but I just dont get it. Embarrassing
