  1. This schedule might end up being the perfect storm of mid-major scheduling. Some of these games may end up being really good RPI games. MTSU on the road could be much better than we expected. B) Go Zips!
  2. I understand that some people turn other people off. It's human nature. But it makes absolutely no sense for someone to stop posting on a forum they otherwise enjoy for the sole reason that they don't happen to like the posts of one or two other people. That's what the Manage Ignored Users Option is for. You don't like anything someone posts? Add that person to your Ignored Users list, that person disappears for you and you can enjoy the forum as if that person never existed. I think some people just throw out easy excuses to explain why they don't post on forums. It makes sense for the guy to do whatever he wants. It makes less sense for someone to continually editorialize every decision or comment by other posters. Thanks for the reminder on the Ignore function.! Go Zips!
  3. Great post. Welcome aboard. +10. Go Zips!
  4. Since you were in town, did you get to the JAR for the Hiram game?
  5. The guy was shooting from Goddard-ville. You don't extend the defense to 30' and then let the little guys dribble around your 6-7 SF. You take away the paint and mid-range .. and dominate the glass. Did the Zips win by 30 or 3? I seem to recall 30. B) B) Go Zips!
  6. I'm not a fan of either program, but I'm pretty sure only one of those 2 should spend a bunch of time in jail.
  7. I've NEVER been as comfortable with a BB roster as I was last night watching the Zips. It's mind boggling to me how we can lose guys like McNees and Roberts who anchored the backcourt for as long as they did .. and just not miss a beat with the new rotations. Gilliam seemed frustrated last night. I'm going to Vegas on him going off in one of the games at Valpo. We get him rolling .. and this can be a really special season. It'll happen soon. B) B) Go Zips.
  8. Really hard not to love this roster already.Turnovers will decide this game.
  9. This is potentially a huge blow. From what I saw in August and at an early practice this month .. seemed like Deji was making it hard for KD to redshirt him. And a 6-3 PG w/ 6-9 reach would have been great to have off the bench on D.This is one reason it's great to have depth and battles at every position on the roster. Odds were the Zips weren't going to have the healthy run they had last year go on forever (no games missed by any player due to injury).Go Zips!
  10. In anticipation of it's imminent return to a TV near you .. please take a moment to view the following. As GP1 would say .. it's one of my favorite topics.
  11. In honor of Beavis and Butthead coming back on TV this week, I'd just like to say.....Uhhhhhhh he said sniff....Dude! I had almost forgotte that. It is going to be epic. Just that 5 minutes of them watching Jersey Shore slayed me. Go Zips!
  12. Please tone it down, GoZips.Gilliam is not a 2. He's a 3 man in the style of B McKnight.
  13. Not sure .. and I'm really not sure. Go Zips!
  14. Nice trip down memory lane. I fondly remember those days when there was only on ESPN and to play on Monday night was huge deal. Now, playing on ESPN is just another TV game. Some of my more inebriated appearances on National Cable TV were on Monday nights.
  15. Now your getting it. I like when my team wins. Take a guess who my favorite QB at Akron was? I'll give you a hint, his last name starts with a "G." Greg will be happy to hear that. He's a good guy too. Easy to root for.
  16. The idea was first proposed by a guy @ CBS .. don't have the link anymore, but it was about 2 years ago. Called it the meTro. Not just any 2 teams, but losing Xavier & Dayton would be a big hit to that league. Xavier is a high major program in the A10, much the way Temple used to be under Cheney. It'd lessen the luster of the A10 slightly I think. This isn't to presume a breakup of the A10 would ensue .. I'm merely musing that perhaps with the Big East dissolved, and no other real FBS options available, Temple and UMass might be more motivated to go all in with the MAC with Xavier gone from the A10. After the Zips make the first of three consecutive Final Four appearances this spring, things will look even better to Temple and UMass. Go Zips!
  17. The BCS conferences could leave the Big East behind tomorrow and start their own division. The quality of competition would be increased by not allowing those schools to have 2 rent a win games a year. Better competition would create more viewers. More viewers creates more ad money, which is why these schools are doing what they are doing. Waiting for the next TCU to come along is a waste of time for them. TCU lived through a period where they had lightning in a bottle. Now that that gingerhead QB is gone, they won't be as good. They have already lost to Baylor and SMU....SMU. They may have had their day. It's one thing to play New Mexico, BYU, CO State and UNLV every week. It's another thing to play Oklahoma, Texas, they already lost to Baylor and the rest of the Big 12 every week. They will be a middle of he road Big 12 team. They've got some more work to do .. but the foundations are there. There was a good interview I read this morning with the TCU coach. His take was essentially that: "Our top line guys can play at this level right now, we've seen that in the bowl games, winning at Oklahoma .. etc. What we need to do now, and what this affiliation will help with, is getting more depth. Now we can recruit more depth .. and as we do that over the next couple of years, we hope to move upward." Paraphrasing entirely. I'm interested in how this works out for TCU. They were left behind when the Big 12 was formed because their commitment / facilities / competitiveness in the Southwest Conference weren't at the level of Texas and .. ugh .. Baylor (?). Now they've had 10 years of infrastructure and success on the field. It'll be interesting to see how it goes the second time around. Mack Rhoades probably isn't ecstatic today. I have to believe that the Big 12 will limit itself to 4 Texas members. Sort of figured that UH would be called up to the Big Leagues first, given the absence of the Houston area in the Big 12 .. but with UT, it probably doesn't matter. Go Zips!
  18. I'm taking the points here. FIU made some noise earlier in the year, but haven't been great the past 2 or 3 weeks. I think it's a chance for them to season their younger players on the road. Zips continue to make small strides in the ground game. Chisolm keeps them in it into the 4th. Zips Cover! B) B)
