  1. Uhhh .. what are you saying? Your "Standing Tall After Defeat" post remains right where you put it.
  2. Locked for behavior unbecoming Zips fans.Take it off the boards fellas.Go Zips!!
  3. Let me be the first: This is foolishness to think that opening the job up right now is going to change recruiting. Who are you going to hire in October? All the worthwhile candidates are otherwise engaged in winning games somewhere else. They're not going to be interviewing for anything before the end of the season anyhow.Go Zips!!
  4. Must have been a pretty localized wind storm. The Dix Stadium cams don't show any damage there:
  5. I think the first mention I saw of it was in a PD article about the movie. Maybe 2-3 weeks ago?I guess I HAVEN'T seen anything official, but I saw it referenced somewhere, and that shirt's not just an off the rack Zips shirt.Either way .. thanks for representing the Zips Willie.
  6. Practice hasn't started yet, and already the new GA coach has done his job. Way to represent Willie!! B) B)
  7. GP1 raises some interesting questions. Is the Captain's sister named Tenniel?
  8. I vote OTHER.My choice would be Paul McDonald.Go Zips!!
  9. Honest question here .. by "save the recruiting class" do you mean:1. Keep the existing commitments we already have?or 2. Have time to recruit other players to fill available scholarships?Just wondering.Go Zips!!
  10. The program can start by not embarrassing themselves, the fans / donors and the community. On the field, off the field and in the classroom. Zips basketball currently has a 1 game winning streak against the ACC, does it not? Good points, minus the obnoxious arrogance. Porter & Dambrot bring in winners. The guys they bring in have been successful in HS and expect to win .. know how to win .. and want to win.
  11. I think that there may be schools with similar talent through the first 3 or 4 guys. Miami always has talent. OU has brought in some strong classes lately. What can separate the Zips from the league is the depth. For the first time in the history of UA hoops, KD has a team that goes 12 legit D1 guys deep. Not 3-4 good MAC players and some hard working role players from 5-12. He's got 10-12 guys that would play on any team in the league, and a few guys that could probably play on teams upstream of UA and the MAC. His ability to go 10 deep the whole season made the difference at the Q. Miami just had no chance to stay with the Zips in the second half. Their tank was empty.Take Parrish for example. Just 4 or 5 years ago, he'd have played 10+ minutes a game on the Zips as a Freshman. Now, he apparently felt the numbers worked against him and he's transferred out. A loss for the Zips in my opinion, but understandable. The depth of talent on the roster is what may separate the Zips from the conference.
  12. I don't understand what the Bucs have to do with a discussion about Zips football. Other than the fact that both teams have the best stadiums in their respective leagues, there doesn't seem to be any relation.Go Zips!!
  13. Isn't Cuyahoga Heights like division X or something? I think they only have 30 guys in the school .. so he probably does the laundry too.
  14. Euton would be a nice get for the program. You don't put up the kinds of numbers he has in big-time AAU tournaments without a high skill level.I dream of the day when the skill and talent of the Zips gets to the point where McClanahan is only a 2, not swinging down to the 3 .. and Cvetinovic is a 3 man, with bigs like Marshall, Bardo, McKnight, Swiech .. maybe Euton, and the 2 other 2010 signees roam the middle.Having an athletic, skilled front line that goes no smaller than 6-8, 6-8, 7' .. that would be a nightmare for most conference opponents. The key to this happening will be having 2 of the 3 bigs on the floor able to guard smaller / quick players. It might mean Zeke actually guarding the 4 rather than the 5, and Nik being the 3 should be ok (see the game films of him checking Bramos last season). Also, one of the 3 has to be able to shoot from outside consistently, and one has to be able to score inside consistently. An inside out guy like Euton would be a big key to this. I think Nik becomes that type of player over time as well.It would be really fun to see KD force the matchups the opposite way than in years past. Instead of being smaller .. go big, and pound the ball inside again and again. The bigs learn how to kick out like Woody did .. and now your guards are shooting open set shots.Good times ahead. B) B)
  15. I was commenting on you calling ZipsWin! an eternal optimist. Them's might be fightin words. Only question is whether or not he craps down his leg when he reads it?Go Zips!
  16. Wow!
  17. OK Review .. but not much about Cvetinovic or McClanahan.
  18. Anyone notice Dwight Lowrey making a big play by breaking up a pass late for the J E T S against NE on Sunday?Good for Dwight!!!
  19. It really doesn't matter to me. Missing class, practice, curfew, drinking, or worse he is still out, that won't change. "With great power comes great responsibility"--Stan Lee (corny, but true)AKA the Parable of Talents. Slightly older than Stan.Go Zips!!!
  20. Per the Indiana Rivals board, IU sent back their ticket allotment to Akron -- after selling only 450 tickets! Hopefully they are buying them locally, because that might be fewer visiting fans than Morgan State had! How pathetic is the fan following of this opponent that says it's "of the quality of the Big Conference That Can't Count"? You know, the Big 10 could fix their logo if they just kicked Indiana or Northwestern out. Then the MAC would have someone to fill our spot when we leave.GREAT post! B) B) Go Zips!
  21. My favorite quote in the article. This Lynch guy is on to the MAC.
  22. TCF Bank Stadium reviews from Gopher fans.Got curious about how things went in the Twin Cities Saturday. I watched much of the game .. good game & it played VERY well on TV.So I went over to gopherhole.com to see what their postgame threads looked like .. and it seems like the Zips Nation is a much happier crew these days than the Gopher Hole.Puts it in further focus to me just how WELL everything was handled by Hunter, Tom & staff on Saturday. I haven't seen anything here about people giving up trying to get food or going to the bathrooms.I guess if the main contention from Zips fans is that tall guy in the band who didn't aim his trumpet high enough .. things went pretty well? B) B) Go Zips!!!
  23. Excellent! If only all statistics cited on sports forums were this well documented.Go Zips!!
  24. All,I have removed all of the posts and banned permanently the offending user for yesterday / today's infraction. Also, I have unlocked the topic .. please keep it respectful. I've gotten more complaints in the last 2 days on the Band topic than pretty much anything else in the last 2 months.Go Zips! B)
  25. Option 4: :D Can't State (alternating H & A, last regular season game), 2 Other BCS or CUSA / MWC (1 Home / 1 Away), Service Academy (Alternating).Always 2 home & 2 away, plus 4 conference home games .. 6 game home slate every year. Maybe add a MAC or Sunbelt team in place of the Service Academy game every 3rd year or so. No games at Brown's Stadium .. it's a dump compared to the Info. B) B) Go Zips!
