  1. Quote from the article you linked: "It has also rumored that the board of donations at the University of Akron are pushing hard for Tressel to coach the Zips football team, who went 2-22 under former coach Rob Ianello, who was fired after two years on Saturday." Mrs. Freud, about your slip................. Board of Donations...................
  2. You certainly had a game plan but....................DO YOU HAVE A PROCESS?
  3. Coaches singlehandedly lose very few games. Ianello lost this one. I wouldn't be able to look my players in the eye.
  4. The same Frisman Jackson who ran Schrock out?
  5. Rarely post on basketball forum, rarely disagree with Zach, but.................... I think more than anything, Zeke needs to work on his attitude. You CANNOT get so upset over every little disappointment during a game. It bleeds over to the next play and the next free throw and.......................... I'm not down on this young man, so don't read it that way. Just posting what I see. One basic low post move and the ability to control emotions and watch out!!
  6. "10:15 a.m. ET A pair of Glenville HS teammates just signed with the UA. DBs Johnny Robinson, 5-10, 180, and Devonte Morgan, 5-11, 180, both join the Zips after standout careers under coach Ted Ginn in Lewis Center, OH." It is pretty amazing the inroads we are making at Glenville, especially since they moved it so close to Columbus............
  7. Which could explain how they "found" Price if Rizzo is already on campus?

  9. This is very bad for us. I know Andrew's parents, yes he's a very good kid and a hard worker, but in no way is he a D-I recruit. His only offers have been Patriot league schools like Bucknell and Holy Cross. Youngstown State isn't even giving him a look. Looks like we're getting a bit desperate. He sounds like the right size for a linebacker or long snapper. Any chance he is being looked at for those positions? Historically if you look at a lot of our offensive linemen, they were brought in at 245 lbs, and beef up to 300 by their redshirt freshman year. Kemme is a good example. If the kid is athletic, with a good frame, he's fine. Don't disagree with anything you've said. His personal stats on the scoutingohio site show that he was a long snapper.

  11. Looks like the effort paid off for Ron Pawlus - good job. http://www.timesleader.com/sports/Warriors...01-28-2011.html
  12. Well I'm an AKRON supporter, who is certainly not sold on iCoach at this point. But I'm willing to see what he can do with an entire class of iRecruits. As for your 2nd question, Nick Rossi selected the Zips over WVU and Temple. You can decide whether the 'eers are a quality BCS team or not. I have to say, I analyzed this on Rivals yesterday and other than Rossi, few if any of the current class had any offers at all from other schools and for every Rossi with quality offers, we beat out Marshall and Youngstown State for others. It seems to me either Ianello cannot compete with others for "known" quality players or he has a pipeline to his kind of player that nobody else has picked up on as a future star. Time will tell.
  13. Everyone looks good coming out of high school where small LB's can excel. Put a 6"0" 207 lb LB in a full season of D1 football and you will see why size is needed. Good luck to this recruit, but don't kid yourself. In the MAC size is needed at LB. We don't seem to be getting it with many of our recruits. We will pay down the line when 230 lb running backs hit us up for 5+ yds/carry. I agree with everything you say but it seems to me I read that he was being targeted as a safety for the Zips. Makes a whole lot more sense and goes along with what you say about weight.
  14. A new LB offer - don't think I saw him on Scouts. http://commercial-news.com/sports/x2339629...l-of-Fame-visit

  16. Scouts shows Bre' Ford as a new commit.....
  17. IMO, there were no more than 3.500 people in the seats and that might be generous. One thing that surprised me was the very large number of comments on the ABJ article. Usually, Zips football only draws a few comments - mostly from our board members.
  18. Thank you for the input on the shot, the reason the camera was not centered today was the fact that the tripod was broke. If the tripod is broke, we could take up a collection here to buy it an artificial leg. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  19. A little off topic but has anyone else noticed that there have been ZERO visits listed for the Zips on Scouts? Are these normally reported by the athlete or the school?
  20. Throwing fans out of the game for expressing displeasure with a soon to be 0-12 product. Not allowing a very small percentage of fans into the game with umbrellas during a rain. Coach has apparently teed off most other sports at the U with a condescending attitude. Fans arguing with each other almost to the point of fighting.
  21. Stayed until it was 42-3 or so. Great band.
