  1. My sons youth football team ends most practices with the Oklahoma Drill.
  2. ZIP, you're asking the wrong guy. We might make it to the final 8! We made the final 16 last year and didn't lose much to graduation. Lots of senior talent and a deep bench.
  3. Thats Nick Harney. He is a small forward who sat out last year to get his grades in order.
  4. Thanks for getting back to the topic, football.
  5. He was at practice Saturday morning. Looks like he could be Brett McClanahans younger brother or his twin.
  6. Dave and I attended this mornings practice. Got to speak to KD a little and he is thrilled that the Serb is playing in the World games. It gives the Serb a chance to play against a high level of competition and it gives the Zips a chance to let the new guys get some playing time. I was impressed by the amount of time in practice they spent on running the offense. Heard coach tell them all that if you're open shoot the ball, but you gotta take shots you can make. As far as the new players; Deji Ibitayo is way bigger than he looks on video with really long arms. Same thing with Blake Justice, who showed a sweet jump shot. KD got on Chauncey Gilliam for passing up a couple of open shots, reminding him what a good player he is. Gilliam can definitely find open shots. Brian Walsh is a very athletic guard. He was banging under the basket for rebounds with the big guys. Nick Harney is very smooth and very long. Demetrius Treadwell was as advertised. Very strong under the basket, not afraid to muscle up shots against Zeke. The thing that really stood out with this group was how fast and athletic everyone of them was. After seeing these guys today, I can see why Euton left, he had no chance of playing this year. By the looks of things we are going to be able to run and push the tempo more than any Zips team that I have ever seen. Every one of the returning guys looked bigger, stronger and more confident. Its a great time to be Zips basketball fan.
  7. I wonder if this poll was handled the same way as the ones that declared WMMS the #1 radio station in the country for so many years?
  8. It looks like new HC Rob Senderhoff could use the services of this Can't State student. Alliance: Police make puzzling discovery
  9. This seems a little black and white to me. Somewhere in the middle, I'm sure we can all find the truth.
  10. I say we meet at the Lizard in Boston Heights...then hit the one in Macedonia...then the one in Independence...then the one across from The Q...then stagger to the Convo. Who's with me? is this on a bus??? ...or are we drinking and driving???Dave offered to be the designated driver. I usually am the designated driver. We can all fit in my car.I don't know, Hilltopper Isn't this what happened the last time we tried this? Its got lots of room!

  12. Come on Dave, you know TV wasn't invented yet when you were a child!
  13. Go to the Docket and look at the complaint. This one might not go away so easily.http://www.co.portage.oh.us/pa/pa.urd/pamw...et_lst?54112690

  16. Can't State basketball player charged with aggravated burglaryThe more things change, the more they remain the same.
  17. The Saudi National team.
  18. You are correct. Akron 1969 I don't remember Freddie though, until 74.
  19. That Tampa game in 1969 was the first Zips football game I ever attended. Tampa 1969 I don't think Fred Soloman was playing for Tampa just yet, he graduated in 1974 and was drafted into the NFL in 75. Tampa pros Tampa played for a few years more, but dropped football after the 74 season. We lost to Freddie that year at the Rubber Bowl.
  20. I agree. Dan went from being a loud, barking coach to being a dick.Stacey looked like Barkley in the second half that day. Did he have 30 after halftime? That's what happens when no one is guarding you. B Hip could have scored 30 that night. Biggest lay down by a Zips team I ever saw.
  21. When did this happen? I never heard of that.Hilltopper exaggerates a bit, but the Andrick-Hipsher steel cage match is well-know to be the point where Thunder Dan jumped the shark.Never!
  22. Ryan Andrick dropping Dan Hipsher with a right hook to the chin. Hipsher picking himself off the floor like nothing happened.
  23. You sure you weren't watching the Aeros? There is no baseball seating to speak of on Akron's campus. Yeah, if only they would remove those bleachers behind home. Then they could put in some "baseball seating" Those players at the plate keep blocking Zachs view.
