What I couldn't understand is why we didn' go to the zone defense after Zeke picked up his third foul. Can't is not a good three pt shooting team and I have to believe that the zone would have shut down th ose drives to the hoop we were giving up.

Two of the officials from last nights game also called the USO/MSU game this week. It was a poorly called game that kept MSU in the game for longer than they deserved. Zeke never even came close to fouling that guy for his third personal. Brett McKnight was body slammed while making a layup at the other end of the floor on the proceeding possession by the Zips, no call. But if Zeke even gets close to his guy away from the lane, its a foul every time.

Just wait till you have your own children RFR44. All you have to do is just get up into their face and I'm sure they'll perform exactly as you want.

Skip, Abreau is a freshman. Do you really think he should be playing like a senior? Its taken Dambrot most of the season, but it now appears that we have something of a set rotation for playing time. Some nights one guy is going to have a good game, other nights it will be another players opportunity to get PT at crunch time. Yes Rico has had some turnovers, but overall his assist to turnover ratio is pretty good. I attribute a big part of our turn around to his willingness to drive the lane. How much complaining was there about Steve's lack of ability to drive the lane and finish. Suddenly Steve is driving to the hole more and getting the big guys easy shots. Personally, I'm looking forward to three more years of Abreaus' ball hawking and fearless ply around the basket. Stop taking everything KD says in the post game interview so seriously, I'm sure he loves what Alex brings to the team.

None of our guys are flushy enough to merit a first team selection. KDs' system makes it tough to impress the voters because no one is going to score 35pts or get a high % of the shots taken by the team. The POTY is a beauty contest, we have a bunch of 7's and 8's, no 10's. I think Nik deserves to be 1st team All MAC because he has been so consistant all season. He has the total game, scoring, rebounding, assists, defense and the most important leadership. Will he get the nod, I don't think so.

Why do you have to talk that way about other programs? Is it because Akron is the worst team in the worst conference in D1 so it makes you feel better? My guess is either THEY realized, the coaches realized or a combination of their and the coaches realization was this= you are not good enough to play FBS football..even in the MAC!!! Believe it or not, some kids choose a school not because they play D1 football but because of other factors - outrageous I know - but it happens. Someone from the marketing department must at least occasionally read threads on Zipsnation. For the first time all season, the yellow car finally won the Sheetz remote control car race promo. The red car was undefeated, because every time the yellow car got to the cones, it went out of control and drove in circles. Game after game, it became obvious to anyone paying attention, that there was something wrong with the yellow car. It became a running joke in my seating section and here on ZNo. Why is this important you may ask? Its important because it points out the lack of professionalism by the athletic department and the people who run the events at the JAR. Just like CK points out, its not one thing that makes people hesitant to come to a Zips game, but a whole bunch of little things. An overall lack of attention to detail makes the game experience less than it could be. A paid master of ceremonies or cheerleader would be a good idea. I loved it when the Pep band director took things into his own hands to get the crowd pumped up Saturday night. He did the same thing at the football games this season with the roving pep band. Maybe they could get him to fill the position.

Green Schools are not "in turmoil", but we are trying to pass a new levy. If the levy doesn't pass there will be some cuts of teaching positions. Tom Stacy is a Phys-ed teacher at the high school. Phys-ed is a required course, you have to take it in order to graduate. Most likely, the teaching positions that are eliminated will be for elective courses not required for graduation. He could possibly be bumped by someone with more tenure, but the other 2 phys-ed teachers currently have less tenure than Stacy. I guess its possible that Stacy mat want to get back into coaching at the collegiate level, but I haven't heard anything that would make me think that was true. Stacy has worked hard to improve Green's football program and the results of those labors are just starting to pay off. I would be surprised if he left, but anything is possible. I'll check around and see if there is any truth to this rumor and report back. ps; I find it humorous that every time I use spell check on a quoted post involving Zac, it wants me to change Zach's name to Schlep! Tom Stacy announced today, that he is resigning from his position at Green HS to accept a position at Ashland University. He will be rejoining his former mentor Lee Owens.
