  1. Why isn't D'Orazio listed on the roster?
  2. If serious questions are asked, TW will put on his serious face, I guarantee it. Where did you find that!
  3. Apparently the greatest QB that never player for the Zips. Stuebenville Thunder Highlights
  4. Got me on that one!
  5. Nevermind. Not worth it. Did you go yesterday? I did and it made sense to hold it in the fieldhouse. There was a deluge of rain immediately prior to the start of the game. I had to walk past the INFO and the field was like a swamp. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/in...es_final_s.html http://www.ohio.com/sports/119996469.html
  6. I don't understand at all. American Football has always been played in all weather conditions. There was no lightning, just some rain and it was a little cool. Why WIMP out and move indoors?! For the fans. Who wants to watch a glorified practice in the pouring rain?
  7. Quite a showing by the Offense in the first half. 47-11 Three touchdowns and a field goal. All three QBs looked good and the running game showed some signs of life. The one player that stood out the most was #44 Jawon Chisholm. He showed some good speed and a good instinct for where the hole was. He was the starter and I can see why. The Defense had a couple of good stops, but no one player stood out. Overall I feel a little better about where the Zips are headed.
  8. Stark County POY Nyles Evans is considering going the Prop-48 route at Akron. What is Prop 48? Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the route that Demetrius Treadwell and Nick Harney have going right now. Basically if you have academic issues qualifying you come in for a year and pay your own way while trying to get your grades up. You aren't allowed to practice with the team or anything like that, but if you make the grades after one year then you still have your normal five years to play four. On the plus side, Evans could be a very nice backup PG behind Abreu in a couple of years once he would be (hopefully) eligible. From what I can find at the NCAA website, there is no such thing as Prop 48 any longer. You are either a qualifier or not. There used to be a category called partial qualifier, that doesn't exist any longer. Treadwell and Harney were not qualified to get scholarships, but they did have good enough grades to enroll at UA. They are paying their own way this year. Once they complete their freshman year, they would in theory, be eligible for a BB scholarship.
  9. One of the offensive lineman is taking the same class as my daughter this semester. He told her today that the Lone ranger is pretty good and he hopes he is the starting QB this fall. He is meshing well with the other O-lineman and seems to be the better QB.
  10. I like how fast the ball gets airborne. Not kicking the ball into the butts of the O-lineman is good.
  11. That must have been that one game I missed.
  12. Who was that offer from? It doesn't matter. My point is that KD isn't leaving.
  13. KD has already turned down one offer. It would have doubled his salary.
  14. Look for an announcement in the near future regarding upgrades to the JAR.
  15. He gotta be careful, someone might be trying to steal our gameplan!
  16. This one will stick in my mind, however it turns out, I will remember this quote: ''I think Akron is a sleeping giant. You have got to give them two or three more years. The way they can coach and recruit, this is going to be a juggernaut.'' I'm having a hard time believing anything from a guy named Lemming.
  17. Dambrot and the Zips have gotten a lot of good press this week because of Shaka and VCU.
  18. OK, I watched the Fronline video. It still doesn't answer my question about this years Zips seniors. I do agree with the class action lawsuit. I've stayed out of the OSU/Tressel debate, but I think the players should have been able to sell their souvenirs. Once someone gave them those items, it became their personal property and they should have the right to do with it as they please. If they don't want them to sell the trinkets, they shouldn't be given until after they leave school.
  19. Did you watch the Frontline story? No, I didn't watch.
  20. So Akron has a 0% graduation rate for black basketball players last season. Brett McKnight and Darryl Roberts aren't going to graduate?
  21. I guess he finally found this thread.
  22. News to me? Me too. I guess if being the knife in the back of Dan Hipsher is a better job, then so be it....someone had to put Hip and Zips fans out of their misery, why not KD? After being the knife, then he did have a better job. Tarver was the knife that ended DHip's run. With help from Hollingsworth. It's not uncommon for me to be in agreement with a lot of GP's edgy comments, but I can't roll with this one. Mount Saint Hipsher had no knives in his back. His explosive personality burnt his players out early. Gambles on troubled souls like Carson, Tarver, Hollingsworth, Melton, etc, coupled with a crappy son and a crippled son blew up in his face. He died by his own sword, not one in his back. I'm thinking Mrs. Hipshers outstanding performances at a few road games might have irked his boss a bit also.
  23. That is awesome. I was thinking yesterday I wanted to go back and see who offered their players and how many stars they got from rivals. But I'm lazy, so I'll just post this image from VCU's campus. Thats actually at the River Walk entrance to the Alamo Dome, but it's still damn funny!
