Thanks for sharing your inner self. It makes it easier to understand some of your other posts. Save it, you can keep your warm and fuzzy "I'm this really tolerant, white-guilt ridden white guy who wants everyone to know it even though I've never talked to a black person in my life" act for someone who cares. I grew up in a majority black school, my teammates were majority black throughout my entire athletic career, and those teammates are some of my closest friends in life who are like brothers to me, 3 of which were in my wedding. You're not gonna sit here and imply that I'm a racist just so you can feel all nice and politically correct, when all I did was state an obvious truth. It's because of j@ck@#$es like you that people are afraid to have honest conversations in society. Pitt has never had a black head football coach and I'm sure the fact that Haywood was black factored heavily into their decision to reach for him. I'm sure if there was a white coach in the same position, Pitt would've probably looked elsewhere or been more hesitant. Skin color is a fact of life in football coaching nowadays, with teams at all levels under pressure to hire black candidates, especially teams that have never had a black coach. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, as it's given guys like Mike Tomlin an opportunity to succeed where in the past he'd probably still be a secondary coach somewhere. This thread implied a possible analogy to RI. I was simply saying that RI is not as likely to get a big job offer after one good season like this guy did. Thats a really ignorant statement there ITZ. You don't know a darn thing about Dave and if you did you would never post that kind of nonsense. As to your first paragraph, whats even more offensive are people who declare themselves not racist because "they have Black friends".

Green Schools are not "in turmoil", but we are trying to pass a new levy. If the levy doesn't pass there will be some cuts of teaching positions. Tom Stacy is a Phys-ed teacher at the high school. Phys-ed is a required course, you have to take it in order to graduate. Most likely, the teaching positions that are eliminated will be for elective courses not required for graduation. He could possibly be bumped by someone with more tenure, but the other 2 phys-ed teachers currently have less tenure than Stacy. I guess its possible that Stacy mat want to get back into coaching at the collegiate level, but I haven't heard anything that would make me think that was true. Stacy has worked hard to improve Green's football program and the results of those labors are just starting to pay off. I would be surprised if he left, but anything is possible. I'll check around and see if there is any truth to this rumor and report back. ps; I find it humorous that every time I use spell check on a quoted post involving Zac, it wants me to change Zach's name to Schlep!

He just verbaled William & Mary according to Scout. Had more FCS offers than FBS ones. I don't think we're hurting too badly in the future QB department. In addition to Dylan Potts who got some playing time this season, Zach D'Orazio will be on campus next month, and we have 3-star Kyle Pohl coming in as well. And if Matt Rodgers ever gets healthy, we have plenty of depth and hopefully one of them turns out to be a game-changer. I disagree on the QB depth issue. Potts and D'Orazio are both spread offense QBs. More runners than passers.

Yeah, I agree. All incoming freshmen should be guaranteed 25 minutes per game. It should then increase by 5 minutes per game until their senior year when they are playing 40 minutes. How dare KD base player minutes on what he thinks makes sense. If things keep going the way they are now, the Zips will never have a winning program.

No. There were that many there, or very close to it, during the first half. In the second half, it did start to resemble Infocision. You're slipping Meister, I fixed it for you!

I don't see a problem drinking in the union...they have a liquor license and a cooler filled with brew. I've been to events at the JAR where alcohol wa served.

Here is an account from a local fan. He is a long standing member of Big Soccer. This looks like the best explanation so far. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.ph...p;postcount=277

All I can say is that I was told this by someone who; 1. Was at the game. 2. Is a former soccer official. 3. Is currently a Head soccer coach at a local high school. What ever happened, it sure is a strange scenario.

And now for the rest of the story; the SJ was removed by the head referee for cheering for the Zips. After Akron scored he cheered.

I wonder why a guy who "Quit" had to be escorted by the police off the the field last night? Maybe his "Grip on reality " is messed up also. Or maybe its because he was ejected from the game? Caption from the photo in ABJ.

Yeah, right after I shelled out $6 for 2 cups for my kids.

Potential College Football Scandal
Hilltopper replied to Dave in Green's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
I have a letter written to my grandfather from a kid he taught in high school in WVA in the 1930's. The kid was a star athlete and was recruited to play football at Tennessee. UT was a powerhouse program at the time. In the letter he describes how demanding the football coaches were and how he wished he was getting Paid more than he agreed to for all this hard work. He even related that the baseball coach wanted him to come out for the team but he wasn't willing to pay him enough to make it worth his time. The more things change, the more they remain the same. http://books.google.com/books?id=Ict_Axi_0...p;q&f=false -
Based on past performance, I wouldn't expect much in the way of answers to any questions.

I didn't notice the fans letting CSU's guards drive around them for a dozen or so layups. Must have happened while I was in the restroom.

Steve is listed on the roster. They have played one game, Steve did not see any action.

And so is everything else in life. Its why I prefer college basketball over the NBA. The constant turnover of players, with none staying more than 5 years. Every season a new mix of players trying to build towards one goal, a championship.

Come on. Let us enjoy it while it lasts. For a few days, at least, we can the Zips are a top-ten calibre team. Now, next season we might be able to say that all season long and not be lying once our secret weapons join the team. I've just heard snippets about these guys. Who are they, where'd they come from and how good are they supposed to be? http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=18997 http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=18244
