I thought we looked a little sluggish in the first half. I think the physical battle we had the day before with Clemson caused us to have a poor shooting effort in the first half. Just didn't seem to play with the same edge we had on Monday. I also think Illinois State was determined to not get embarrased like they did on Monday. All we needed was for a few more shots to go through the hoop and we could be 2-0. Another encouraging thing is how well we have taken care of the ball. Only 5 turnovers yesterday and 4 on Monday.
Toles has only practiced a handful of times in the last 5 weeks. Once he getsp his legs back and gets some chemistry going he will be a welcome addition.
Christian is a very smart kid. He is already a senior academically majoring in business. Next year he will be working on his MBA. This also translates to his performance on the floor. A coachs dream.
That was a really bad call. The NIU player merely bumped into Nelson. Does this ruling mean that the 1/2 game suspension against the player is overturned?
The landscape of mid-major basketball is changing. With the new rules on transfers mid-majors are going to be more reluctant to solely recruit HS seniors to fill their rosters. Why spend a couple of years as a training ground for those players so the good ones can just transfer up to a P-5 school to finish their career.
Dave and Shelly are the biggest Zips fans I know. They both volunteer their time and money to help make UA a better place. If there is a Zips sporting event one or both of them is probably in attendance.
You will meet at the JAR and travel by bus to Erie. UA is sharing the charter with St Bonnie. When you arrive in Grand Cayman there will be transportation provided to get you to and from the airport, games and all other organized events. There will be a team dinner at some point. When you arrive back in Erie you will be bussed back to the JAR. You will be able to leave you car parked at the JAR for the time you are away. I have traveled with the team on many occasions and it is a blast. Lots of interaction with the players and staff. I will be there and so will ZZZips.
