Do you have a background in business or accounting? Do you think that cutting out athletics would result in a dollar for dollar reduction in the actual operating costs of the university? Yes there would be a reduction in some costs but do you think that it would reduce costs directly related to classroom education and student support ? A significant portion of the costs attributed to athletics is just cost shifting.

Pretty sure there is a clause in his contract that allows the university to re-assign him to another position to finish out his contract. If declines his new position or fails to complete the duties of that position they would be off the hook for paying the remainder of his contract.

Since it looks like he is going to possibly finish out his contract at UA, I know of an opening for a teaching position. The person who teaches this class is retiring at the end of the month. The class is for incoming freshmen. It's called The Akron Experience.

Found this explanation on Twitter. It appears that Ben actually deflected what was a shot on goal and the rebound was redirected into the goal. "Rebound off goal keeper to a player offside is offside. If a defender attempts to play ball but missed header or wiffs a clearing pass and ball goes to offside player then it’s not offside under new college rule. Good call since goal was deflected by goal keeper to offside player. Go Zips!"

I can't believe there are people stupid enough to believe there isn't enough donor money lined up to buy out his contract.

Frank is 70-42 in the MAC. Terry is 23-33. We have 8(7?) Senior starters on defense. Next year will be another rebuild. I feel the winds of change blowing strong. Something has to happen to salvage what is left of the fan base and more importantly the booster base. The empty suites on the 6th floor and loges and club seats on the 5th floor are sending a message that can't be ignored.
