EMU led comfortably midway through the second half and then went cold. Ball State had two chances in the last 20 seconds to tie but missed. Ball State shot 26% from the field for the game. EMU beat Ball State by 4 at BSU and by 10 at home during the regular season.Toledo beat Eastern twice during the regular season - by 10 at EMU and 12 at home.

I'm OK with an open-ended stadium for now given current interest/attendance levels. I would think they'll preserve the space they need at each end (or at least at one of the ends) to join the two sides when additional seating is needed. Build it for 25-30K without cutting corners on what is built now and make it more pleasing to the eye by filling in the end(s) down the road. I'm amazed at how nice all of the new buildings on campus are and I think we'll like the new stadium as well.I WOULD like to see dirt flying rather than later. Construction delays scare me and I want to be sitting in that thing for Kentucky in September 2009. Where's my shovel ....

I love how Coles interacts with the fans. Also enjoy the many facial expressions on display during a game. Nice guy. Is a Miami alum and, like Dambrot, is probably very satisfied as head coach at his alma mater.

A huge THANK YOU from me and the rest of my family as well. I watch you guys during a game almost as much as I watch the game itself! Kyle and I had a great time on the bus trip to Toledo and I also appreciate how well all of you conduct yourselves at the games. Love how organized and varied the cheers are. Alumni have certainly taken notice and here's to hoping more of the students join the fun as time goes on. Have a great time this week in Cleveland!

A friend of mine loaned me a VHS tape of the Akron/Michigan game a few months ago. I should probably borrow it again and get it converted to DVD before the tape dies. Fun stuff to look back on. I cut class that afternoon to stay home and watch it. I think of that game every time I see our 6'3" center Russell Holmes at the JAR.

How about the shoulder by a Can't player (don't remember which one) into the middle of Nate Linhart's chest sending Nate flying to the floor in the first half. Replay of baseline camera angle couldn't have been any more clear that the Can't player deliberately lowered his shoulder to clear space for a layup. The Can't player missed the layup but a foul was called on an Akron player going for the rebound or contesting a follow-up shot. Nate could have been acting a bit but it sure looked like a solid lowered shoulder offensive foul to me.Still holding firm on "MAC OFFICIALS SUCK!"

As a responsible parent who always tries to make sure our son Kyle never leaves home without his "EARMUFFS!," it was a pleasure to send Laing Kennedy an e-mail this morning voicing my displeasure at what my wife and son had to witness at last night's game Kudos to the Rowdies for holding themselves in check and abiding by the code of conduct when cheering for the Zips at home or on the road (what happens on the bus, stays on the bus). I wonder if the Can't fans will take their class-less act with them on the road to the "Q" in Cleveland? Looking forward to a rematch next Friday night but if Can't is one-and-done on Thursday, I won't shed any tears. Go Zips!

Couldn't stand the thought of walking back to my car surrounded by a bunch of screaming hippies again. Wife and son were there - I stayed home and watched it on TV with my daughter. WILL be at the Q as long as Akron is in it.
