I have NO freakin' clue what MAC refs see. There are three of them out there for crying out loud. Ticky-tack call on Dials out on the perimeter earlier in the half and they NO CALL on his drive to the basket at the end of the half. Replay shows the Can't guy catching him in the side of the head. Inadvertent or not, it altered his drive/shot and should have been called. Thank God Can't isn't hitting their shots. Gotta stop turning the ball over too. We'd really have a nice lead without all of the turnovers.

That's Steve French and he's not afraid to let you know how he feels regarding the refs. He's a "bit" of a homer but I like him!

I'm with you BB. I H-A-T-E that! The people here at work get a little irritated when I stop them in mid-sentence to correct them. They razz me a little bit by emphasizing "... the UNIVERSITY OF AKRON ..." when they do remember but at least they're beginning to think twice about it. Many in this area grew up referring to it as AU but that is (hopefully) slowly changing. We're NOT Podunk U - we're The University of Akron and we're beginning to put a little ass-kicking behind that proper name! GO ZIPS!(Not 5 minutes after submitting this post, a co-worker who I have NEVER said anything to regarding 'AU' walked by my cube and said "My husband and I just had lunch on campus at AKRON U and ..." ... of COURSE I said something to her! )

Our version of a Nick Fazekas? Totally agree with CK that someone with the numbers/size/enthusiasm/desire that Swiech appears to have can carry a MAC team a long way. Put a couple of talented pieces around him like Nevada has done (Sessions. Shiloh) and look out. I can't wait to see him on the floor in Akron Blue and Gold!

I thought I heard Frenchy say that Father Swiech made cookies for the team. I LOVE it when the kids and parents are so excited about playing at Akron. Great to see McKnight's parents making the drive north for every game.

Put me down in the Christian column as well, as much as I hate to say that. Relatively young squad doing well in a tough division (MAC East). Toledo is very good and very athletic but I think their MAC record would have suffered a bit more if they had to face a few more MAC East schools, especially on the road (home team fans, MAC officiating that consistently sucks both ways but SEEMS to favor the home team, IMHO).
