  1. Marquette had 8 home matches this year and drew a total of 4773 fans. That's an average of 597 per match. Be LOUD Rowdies! Go Zips!!!
  2. Need full-on student/Rowdie turnout. Joe and Suzy Akron also need to be there in big numbers. It's one of those 'call/bring a friend' nights. Temp around 50 with some chance of rain right now. Spread the word Zip soccer fans!
  3. Whoops! Was it the loss to Hartwick? Poor strength of schedule for the MAC portion of the schedule? Our friends at the NCAA? Bring on Indiana! Go Zips!!!
  4. Toledo just knocked off Boston College in Boston, 95-92 after trailing by 8 at the half. Toledo didn't take their first lead until the last 2-3 minutes. Nice win for them over an ACC team.
  5. Ndour is aggressive, opportunistic and seemed to be right there on the edge of out-of-control. Seems to be a cross between Tree and Q. I enjoyed watching him play against tosu and was impressed at how well OU hung in there and played hard right to the end.
  6. Money on the line for the MAC? Go Huskies! All the makings of an entertaining game. Looking forward to it.
  7. I think we've found our red-shirts.
  8. 79-58 AKRON Pay-back time. Too much Tree and Harney this time - Go Zips!
  9. Inside 10 minutes. Lots of action up there tonight including 5 yellows and 24 fouls so far. I hope this means we're kicking it into another gear for the stretch run.
  10. Wow - Dershang really peppering the Michigan goal and goalie!
  11. I find it very hard to believe we are out-fouling a Big Ten team 12-4!
  12. Looks like they corrected Seremba to Stevenson as Live Stats originally had Akron's yellow on Seremba. I was hoping Seremba had a miraculous recovery!
  13. Michigan goal on a long free kick with less than a minute to play in first half. Appreciate Akron Zips M Soc and Paul Warner for Twitter updates from Ann Arbor.
  14. Zips up 2-0 on Dershang goals in 14' and again 35'. Fouls 8-2 Akron (yeah, right ...). One yellow apiece. Akron leading shots 11-2, shots on goal 3-1, corners 2-1. GO ZIPS!!!
  15. Not a ranked opponent. Where's the motivation? Zips lose by more than 10.
  16. Buffalo stream Would not work using Firefox v25. Got it to work using Opera. 0-0 at the half.
  17. I was able to find records back to 1962. Thanks for the update JZ!
  18. Weather forecast right now for Oxford: sunny, 63 degrees, 0% chance of rain and winds out of the SW@5-15. Should be a beautiful day for a Redhawk beat-down. The road trip to Bowling Green was disappointing so four of us are trying it again Saturday. Four-hour drive but should be well worth it - LET'S GO ZIPS!!!
  19. Pohl is playing on a bad wheel and I really do think that is having an affect. A shame Hirschman hurt himself celebrating on the kind of play we sorely needed today. Nice to see the Zips bounce back with a nice defensive effort today against a high-powered offense like NIU's, especially with the amount of time they had to be on the field. Year 2 = losing close. We've played some very good teams this year, have had our share of injuries, and have been hanging in there. Very watchable as compared to a few years ago. As much as I hate it we just need to continue to be patient as our guys continue to get better and the coaching staff brings in a few more key pieces/play-makers. Seriously considering making the long drive to Oxford next Saturday in the hopes of witnessing our first win EVER in Oxford (0-9; avg score 14-40). Go Zips!!!
  20. Coach Bowden: "Lose big Year 1. Lose small Year 2. Win small Year 3. Win big Year 4." Still early in Year 2 and working to shed the past. Looking forward to next Saturday's game against the Ragin' Cajuns.
  21. Next year's team wins that game. Interception in end zone from 2 yard line is a real head scratcher. Great effort, especially given the number of guys on the sideline with injuries. We're in good hands with Bowden and Co. Kudos to Amato on our defensive effort today. Go Zips!
  22. Niagara is the one with a long season ahead of them. Seems like San Diego State kept the ball in the Niagara half the entire match. I don't believe Niagara had any shots on goal or corner kicks. We're going to win far more than we lose controlling the ball as much as we do but it is obvious we are missing chemistry or a piece or two when it comes to generating offense/finishing right now. I like what I've seen so far and am relieved that we continue to play the style of soccer we've become accustomed to. Hopefully one or more of our guys will step up as the season goes along and overall chemistry improves. Frustrating last night but I think we owe Embick, his staff and the players our patience. Go Zips!
  23. I know. Just not a big fan of either school.
