  1. Ouch, that'll leave a mark!
  2. Uggh, freaking over-hyped, over-ranked, and over-exposed Notre Dame.
  3. Athlon also released it's version of the preseason rankings. The MAC looked like this:48 NIU53 Toledo76 Miami88 Akron92 CMU96 Ball St.100 OU 101 WMU103 BGSU107 EMU114 Can't State117 Buffalo119 TempleSo, I guess we're just gonna have to play 'em out and see for ourselves where they fall
  4. "..proven passing guru at the helm in coach JD Brookhart" I like that sound of that. We actually have a coach who is respected nationally.
  5. Mack said getting JD extended was his first priority when he was hired. I only hope he is working on it. If he is not, I fear we will lose JD sooner rather than later.
  6. Kiki, Getsy and Reggie Corner were named to the Sporting News All MAC pre-season team. Getsy and Kiki are also on the Sporting News All-America checklist as players to watch. Congrats to these three. There will be more honors like this in the future. :macc:
  7. "Charlie's my guy. Charlie's always been my guy right from the start," Brown said while watching Saturday morning's practice in the team's three-day rookie minicamp. "He's a warrior. He'll do fine." Jim BrownWho knows, but thinks are sounding really good out there in Berea. They are continuously talking about how hard Charlie has worked and how hard he has studied since the end of last season. Obviously, they think he can handle it. I just think it's gonna be fun to watch.
  8. I guess we'll see, won't we. I am betting on Charlie.
  9. Yea, i'd say that't the vote of confidence we'va all been looking for. Dorsey is not a factor, he's just a body. He fizzled in Tempe.
  10. I think that's just great for Brett Biggs. I don't know if he'll make the team, but he'll give it everything he has. That's just how he plays the game.
  11. Terrell Davis, who was drafted by Denver in round 6 in 1995, said on the NFL Network that he never talked to anyone on draft day. He saw his name on the ticker and that's how he knew he was drafted. Then on Wednesday of the following week he got a certified letter from the team telling him he was drafted with info for when and where to report for mini-camp. Kind of a funny story considering he was to become a 2000 yard rusher and a Super Bowl MVP.
  12. I heard a report with Phil Savage this evening and he said he did not call Detroit. He said that Detroit called Cleveland, just like they called every other team in the league because they're trying to dump Harrington. They asked if he was interested, he said no and that was that. Believe what you want. I am gonna believe Savage still has faith in Frye.
  13. Hixon goes to Denver in the 4 th round. Pick number 130 overall. Good luck in the Mile High City !
  14. Personally, I am all for the MAC being tied to another bowl game. I just dunno if I like the idea of a six hour drive thru the snowbelt, into Buffalo and the North from there in January. If I have to drive that far to watch 'em play ( and I will) I wish they had gone South, that's all. Aren't there any domes in Louisville or Charlotte?
  15. I think the Zips get wins v.CMU Can't State Cincy Miami BGSU Buffalo Ohio WMUand get losses v. PSU NC St. N. Texas ToledoThat's 8-4 and hopefully it will be enough for a return trip to the MACC and the MCB.Go Zips! :macc:
  16. I would never bet against Jay Rohr. Interesting that he is comparable in size to Zach Thomas. It would be fantastic if he could catch on somewhere. I didn't think Blackburn was gonna be able to make it, and look what he did last season.
  17. How did the Zips miss out on this guy? Word to your mother.http://youtube.com/watch?v=pq6vufmTJ9Q&sea...20rapper%20ever
  18. Through the magic of my new dvr and ONN, I got to watch the the game this morning. For anyone who saw the spring game last year, how much more impressive was Getsy this spring? He looked lost last spring and I was very concerned. Yesterday, he was in complete control and a fantastic field general. The running backs as a unit looked very good. Alex Allen ran very hard and showed some nice moves. McMillon also ran hard. I don't think there will be much of a drop off if Kennedy needs to catch his breath this season. I think this is a great sign for the future.Lindsay and Long looked pretty good at wr. I was also impressed with Patterson, nice routes, good hands and some toughness. Arthur has come into his own.The tight ends are a definite strength. As far as the kicking game goes, those two freshmen can't get here quickly enough, IMO.Mlb may be a concern. The db's were fine, but I think the whole dl was back-ups.All in all, great fun. Go Zips.
  19. Gotta love the Basch boys! Good luck to Dennis at Ashland. I hope he can stay healthy, head injuries aren't something to screw around with.
  20. 25 th on the Wr. board, huh? Any idea how many wr. were drafted last year? Surely, 25 are drafted each year, right?
  21. God, I hate Penn St. and those horrible uniforms. We owe Miami an ass kicking and I hope we get to do it this year, but I dislike Penn St. almost as much. It would be great to go there and embarrass them , wouldn't it?
  22. Wow, lotsa negative comments on that board. How much of that stuff is because he never cracked the line-up and people are just speculating and how much is actually true? As long as he has the grades, then, why not give him a look, if he is even interested? I am sure JD is already two steps ahead of us on this one.
  23. A third bowl game sounds great to me. I dunno about traveling north to Toronto in December, though. Although , it is the closest destination they are considering. I am going to hope for New Mexico or Alabama, myself. :macc:
  24. Let's keep our fingers crossed. How nice does it sound to have the most sought after defensive lineman in the country on your team?
