  4. So much for the lack of hyperbole...now we expect to outrecruit the Big-xx in NEO (other than Tosu)? But at least with a good coach (and VPSE) we can hope for some incremental improvement in local recruiting.
  5. +100. It would only increase scoring in overtime to decide the match in the same fashion as regulation play. We've lived and died by penalty kick shootouts and I agree it's a 'tragic' guessing-game way to determine a winner. A basketball analogy would be at the end of a hard fought tie game to have each team shoot half a dozen free throws to decide the outcome.

  8. Looks like a very interesting article; I haven't had time to read it all yet...hopefully soon.
  9. At least with the expanded format we had a better chance of getting the WW than having it all rest on RI's shoulders..
  10. We just don't fit into that southern geography, east region is better for us. Furthermore, Tulane, Rice, and SMU need to get out of there and start a southern Preppy-academic league: Tulane Rice SMU Vanderbilt Duke Ga Tech Clemson Miami UNC Virginia
  11. Bad news via Twitter: Can't State clinches Wagon Wheel Challenge over Akron with MAC women's outdoor track & field title http://www.wagonwheelchallenge.com/
  12. Just came across one in a book about Gilda Radner, where the author contrasts Paris-France with.......you guessed it, Akron-OH.
  13. Valiant effort but alas, Northwestern is really starting to annoy me
  14. http://denver.sbnation.com/air-force-falco...-san-jose-state "the WAC is becoming an endangered species in football"
  15. No. AQ or not, the BE is still a better conference and we should want to move up beyond the MAC, not bring in more FCS teams that we will then have to compete against for recruits, and who may then get to the next level before us. We have already been leapfrogged by the likes of Marshall, UConn, UCF, etc.
  16. http://www.bcinterruption.com/2012/4/28/29...north-texas-fiu "-- Both the Big East and MAC are at 13 programs, opening up the possibility of either searching for a 14th member (round numbers FTW). Of the two, the Big East is probably far more likely to try to even up the ranks by picking off a (yet another) team from Conference USA or the MAC"
  17. Mountaineers, meet AK-Rowdies Actually, didn't we play them a couple years ago and send their coach home crying, or am I thinking of someone else?
  18. Q: Outside of NE Ohio and western PA, where do you think you'll be recruiting the most future players from?

  21. Nice article. Be sure to watch Jerry Maguire a few times for inspiration! You can do it!
  22. sounds like a good plan to me
  23. Thanks. Should be a good battle to watch.
  24. Glad we could help and thanks for giving us that credit. With Toledo & Buffalo both losing, it's up to you guys now. The successes of any/all MAC teams elevates the conference and helps the other MAC schools. Are all of the games being streamed online? I'm thinking OU/USF will get edged out on TV by the other games(?)
