It would be interesting to see the isolated financials of the soccer program. There is some revenue from tickets but no TV and no major buy games. The team size is large and has to travel farther and wider since there are fewer teams within the regular MAC footprint. Talk about a painful cut -- it would be, but in budget cost saving terms it has to be on the table.
How does the campus footprint get smaller? What can they sell off? Maybe Gojo with their increased product demand will get bigger and buy the polsky building(??)
I'm also not sure what college they could cut and how that saves money since you would further decrease enrollment.
I still have quite a few game programs and a few buttons and patches etc. I just recently tossed my rubber bowl 50 year anniversary metal tray since it was getting badly corroded. I also kept my Frye for Heisman yard sign for a long time until moving recently. I always thought it would be cool to have a zips clubhouse somewhere for watch parties and as a repository for souvenirs, zips media archives, etc.
They should have an outdoor pep rally, campus parade or whatever, with complimentary face masks, to celebrate this MACC.
ETA: Technically, we were undefeated in postseason play...NCAA Co-champs!
Kind of surprised they didn't postpone it for up to a month before canceling. Then maybe still play in empty venues. Lots of businesses will feel the economic pain.
