I think the task force is going to need its own thread sooner than later. Everyone needs to come up with their numbers as to the PR value of Div. I membership vs. lower divisions in order to hash out what the real net cost of athletics is.

He made bank coming here but hard telling what direction his career path takes now. His was the only redundant president's salary we were paying since the others left voluntarily and apparently it's been paid off.

So there won't be many Div. 1 games played in September. With people jonesing for some football, it should help viewership for the games that do get played and some may get on tv that otherwise wouldn't.

Stanford has any number of alumni that could sponsor all those sports for years to come. This seems mostly political / symbolic.

They should be able to come up with a durable face mask athletes could wear in competition, something like the neck gaiters you see people wearing. Then just space people out in the stands, require masks, take temps on the way in, etc. Even so, it will be hard to do politically if c19 cases are rising again.

Not that it didn't need renovating. UA should have gotten rid of it years ago - let the president live and entertain where he/she wants and pay for their own renovations.

It seems if they allow a waiver for one FBS school they would have to be consistent with all the other schools which could lead to a bloodbath for men's and women's teams and scholarships. I read the CMU pres. or AD said they won't be bringing back track so it will be interesting to see what new men's sport they start up. -
Great way to get more students from all over as long as it's high quality instruction.

Sorry for his disappointment. Can we assume he was not on scholarship since he's running a YouTube channel? Could he not stay and run distance events on the track team? I've been told xc runners do both.
