  1. Good for him.
  2. I like it, Carolina-alphabet notwithstanding..
  3. Well, it was a thought (although it came to pass w/ Stark State in town instead). I guess Akron folk will be getting their Amazon stuff really quick now. Maybe by drone? https://www.cleveland.com/business/2019/07/amazon-to-open-fulfillment-center-at-former-rolling-acres-mall-in-akron.html
  4. If there's one position Coach Arth should be qualified to evaluate for potential, it's QB.
  5. Good choice, Isiah. Welcome to Akron.
  6. You might want to start with the City of Akron main switchboard: https://www.akronohio.gov/cms/site/5e1dba3185d84716/index.html
  7. I agree, it's a competitive landscape so why throw them lifelines without something substantial in return. However, I also wouldn't underestimate the potential for the MAC to succumb to NCAA/media politics if strings can be pulled and/or the powers that be want it to happen.

Colonial/Northeast/Patriot would be good geographically but FCS may be too much of a come-down for them(?)
  9. For the NFL and all of football, a new threat: an evaporating insurance market https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/25776964/insurance-market-football-evaporating-causing-major-threat-nfl-pop-warner-colleges-espn
  10. Will A.J. be his unpaid assistant grad assistant?
  11. The beer is overpriced with no Akron brews on tap.
  12. I think the "engineering solution" for the east and south stands should be to punch holes in the concrete every 15 feet or so and plant big-tree saplings so the hillsides return to scenic woods, breaking up and hiding the decay, and providing permanent stability for the embankments and road.
  13. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2019/06/05/college-basketball-three-point-line-moving-back-international-distance/1357922001/ Since 2008, the three-point arc has rested at 20 feet, 9 inches from the center of the basket. The international three-point distance had been tested in the National Invitational Tournament the past two years, and the results from the further distance compared to those from the regular season were negligible. Teams in the NIT converted long-range attempts at a 33 percent clip compared to a 35.2 percent mark in the regular season. The 32-team field attempted 23.1 3-pointers during the postseason tournament compared to 22.8 attempts during the regular season, too.
  14. Using derogatory language about an opponent's mother is apparently still fair game
  15. Looks like LZip wins the poll outright
