  1. Something they can do.. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/01/kent_state_students_tops_in_se.html
  2. I don't think the players will be as concerned about fans in the stands and being a BMOC as much as getting to the NFL as quickly and easily as possible. Here is a free article: http://www.bendbulletin.com/sports/4974804-151/will-the-pacific-pro-football-league-pan-out The league would have four teams based in Southern California, both to reduce expenses and because the region has so many young players. The league would have a six-game schedule plus playoffs, and finish before the college season begins. Players would be paid an average of $50,000 in salary and benefits, including workers’ compensation, a 401(k) plan and free community college tuition.
  3. Losing 40 top athletes (especially QB's) per P5 conference would be significant. The NFL seems very serious about a developmental league in order to bolster their product and marketability, I don't know why some are so skeptical about it. It's not meant to be a direct competitor to the NFL as previous pro leagues were.
  4. I would expect the opposite: some of the marquee players who would have gone to the top college programs will go to the D-league instead and get paid. The NCAAF pecking order would remain the same but will be a little more watered down overall with a little more parity between the upper and lower rungs.
  5. In Milwaukee, and the Gators don't like playing in the cold!
  6. What is UD's enrollment? Do we get to include it in UA's total enrollment now? How is the soccer scene in Vietnam?
  7. UA music fest mentioned in this attendance article https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-01-03/the-unravelling-of-college-football-starts-with-all-these-empty-stadiums
  8. I agree...it would need to be a G5-only "NIT tournament" so AAC/BYU/BSU/WMU... would still be eligible for both playoffs. But the risk would be that the P5 would use a secondary playoff as an excuse to freeze out any G5 teams from the big playoff per the golden rule (those with the gold...)
  9. The G5 is effectively a separate division from the P5 so why not have its own playoff? The NCAA hoops tourney is not an apt comparison IMO because there is a lot more parity in basketball with the much smaller squads and many schools focusing on bball rather than football.
  10. Who'da thunk the redhawks would be bowling in our stead this year
  11. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2016/12/university_of_akron_facing_declining_enrollment_plans_significant_investment_to_attract_international_students.html President Matthew Wilson, who has a background in international education, would lead the initiative. He has said the university needs to focus on expanding beyond Summit County for students. Sounds familiar.
  12. He could have been disemboweled by the Roo with a well placed double hind leg kick.
  13. #1: Same-rules overtime periods and PK shootout tie-breaker
  14. Our O-Line seems to be struggling to say the least..
  15. +1. Hiring a well-liked known-quantity insider to rebuild trust within the UA community vs. a lengthy and expensive national search of a limited-quality candidate pool...he may not even want a long tenure as president here but if he can stabilize things in the near term we will be on a better footing for the next search.
  16. First we had "the Sheriff", now we also have "the General"
  17. Dude could tackle!
  18. Youngsters: Lane and Natson aren't the first good receivers we've had!
  19. Halloween is coming up....coincidence?
  20. Great breakdown, zipsoutsider.
  21. I hope he can finish out the season. Was anything said about Warren?
  22. We'll let you know in about 6 hours
  23. Per KD, they could have gone anywhere in the country.
  24. I'll check on the score in the 2nd qtr. Make me want to watch the 2nd half, Zips!
