  1. Me too. I saw on the gametracker that we hit the post on a header in the first half.
  2. Kudos to them as the program is improving; however, I feel their OOC schedule is weaker than what will be encountered in the MAC.
  3. Front Page!http://soccernet.espn.go.com/section?DB_OE...mp;&cc=5901
  4. I don't know if the "OSWho" reference is one I started using a couple months ago and has caught on since or if I adopted it from somewhere else, but I like it!...to the point that I think it would be nice if the moderators made it a text change in the background as is the case with K-E-N-T being displayed as Can't or F-L-A-S-H-E-S being replaced with flushes. In all cases, and there is no doubt UA men's soccer will yet again be
  5. Those totally reak havoc on your tires. Might just have to take my wife's jeep instead of my car. sometimes they shit on your windshield too...Let's hope when the game is over, this only happens in the real world and is not a figurative reference to the game (the shitting on the windshield reference, not the dead bird).Contain Davis and a couple receivers and this is an even contest. Perhaps advantage to us because of home field. Either way, the key match-up is their offense versus our defense. I think our offense will put up at least 24 points...hope it's enough for another big W!
  6. Notre Dame is a very solid #5. They have already had a couple big wins and we whooped on them. Louisville beat UNM (who we play this weekend) in overtime last week. I think we are every bit as the #2 ranking indicates. HUGE game coming up at the end of the season at #10 OSWho both for recruiting and Ohio bragging rights.
  7. Because the state of Florida has very few men's soccer programs and FAU could make a big name for itself in this sport, which has growing media exposure.
  8. With a schedule this difficult, the only thing that matters is winning our games. Besides, I think IU will be strong and well respected going into the post-season. They always are.
  9. Thanks. Too bad we got scored on, but the W is the biggest thing.
  10. Does anyone have a link to a gametracker for the UA versus UC game? The UA website has a link, but a gametracker doesn't come up. Feel free to post updates if you can.
  11. Another quality OOC win for the MAC. This week, I'm looking for UB to beat Pitt, BGSU to beat Minnesota, Temple to beat UConn, and our Zips to beat Syracuse. In the other games, I don't think the MAC teams have a chance.
  12. 1-0 win for UA. Yet another quality win! To verify for yourself, click on the media button for the game on the schedule:http://www.gozips.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_...amp;SPSID=47177UC also won 1-0, so the UA-UC game on Sunday will be for the championship.
  13. The best part of the article is that after the negativity regarding Can't State, the #5 ranked UA men's soccer team is mentioned along with the promotion of Coach Boals. Beautiful!
  14. Thanks!...I looked on IU's athletics webpage, but didn't find one.Check out my recent post in the soccer forum and give me your thoughts please.
  15. http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPS...;ATCLID=1569559"Indiana is one of just six all-time UA opponents to post a winning record against the Zips in a series with at least 10 meetings. Akron trails Indiana 4-24-1 and is 1-12 in its last 13 meetings. UA has defeated IU just once in Bloomington. The 2-1 UA victory occurred in the schools’ second meeting of their series, Oct. 4, 1975."So who are the other five programs to post a winning record against UA in a series with at least ten meetings?I know OSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame are not among them.My guesses: St. Louis, UNC, Penn State, UVA, and Oakland (Michigan). What are your thoughts?Anyone have factual information that supports/refutes my guesses?
  16. Anyone have a gamecast link? Please post.
  17. From gozips.com...Further distancing itself from its “mid-major” label, Akron has more than held its own against schools from the larger conferences. In fact, UA is 34-14-6 (.685) all-time versus schools from the Big East Conference and 60-32-7 (.641) versus schools from the Big Ten.Very impressive!
  18. http://www.collegesoccernews.com/index_files/Page424.htmI think we'll finish much higher. Go Zips!
  19. Seriously? This is a weak move by the athletic department, or the MAC office, whoever is in charge of the schedule here.It just tells people that we're second-rate. Why the hell should we base our schedule around another, unrelated school's game time? I don't care who you root for, this is weak.I personally Like the shift to a 1:00 PM start, however to say that it is so "football fans in northeast Ohio, who can now watch two great football games in their entireties" is not "weak" it is just plain stupid. If I was in charge of the Athletic Department whoever wrote that would be very lucky to have a job the next day. :mad_flame: I agree that the change is definitely for the better. However, to publicly acknowledge OSWho's game as having an impact on the decision making is very poor. It highlights we are a second rate program. Even though it's true, our own Athletic Department shouldn't be publicizing such a stigma. The challenges are great enough without handicapping ourselves.
  20. I can match their yellow spot on.So can I.
  21. The list of schools that offered him is very impressive. I wonder how he's ended up with us? Seems like we have the same log jam that UL does at RB. It just figures that's his position though. Why don't we ever seem to get transfers or new talent where there are big holes (i.e. QB and DB)? With a stud QB, this team could go from being average/below-average to top of the MAC.
  22. Out of curiosity, I checked one of the gopher sites & found this thread:"The official "Where the **** is Vince Hill?" Thread" I wonder if maybe Da'Von Moore might be able to put a big hit on this kid this season. Is he still around?Da' Von Moore still around. He hurt himself in the first practice he took place in during last season. Either tore his ACL or something with his ankle. Needless to say it wasnt very good. He will be at camp once it opens this week. Also coming to camp a BIG NAME running back! Could be the the best recruit in the MAC by far next to Deryn Bowser.Unless you're going to name names and give some details, please don't bother even mentioning stuff like this. It's beyond frustrating for those of us not "in the know". As for concerns about starting a rumor as a result, simply qualify your statements as heresay.
  23. The only Big 11 team to make the list is # 25 Northwestern. OSWho?
  24. Good idea. I've been saying for a couple of years now that we should intentionally try to stoke up a rivalry w/ Toledo. It's a natural rivalry-in-the-making. And, aside from the last 2 years, they have had an outstanding FB program.Toledo has made it clear that they want to leave the MAC at the first good opportunity. If we can build a good rivalry with them, they might take us with them. As of right now, though, their only real rival is BGSU, and that's the way they like it.How and when did UT make it clear they want to leave the MAC?
