CUSA is more of a lateral move with much higher travel costs for away events.

Actually, the living room is going to be between the student union and the soccer field where Carrol Street used to run through. I think Vine Street is staying right where it is.I'd love to see all roads leading into campus renamed with something related to a prestigious aspect of the university.

First, in keeping with the theme of incorporating tradition into the new stadium, does anyone else think that Vine Street (the street that runs east-west between the stadium and field house) should be renamed to honor and accent a traditional aspect of the football program? More specifically, the Auburn renovation is primarily for the biology department, not engineering.The biology department is going to move into the space that is now parking and biomedical engineering will be moving into a renovated version of the old biology department space.

What you mention is for the 2008 recruiting class. I find it to be an under-rating; however, if you scroll down, you'll find that UA is #34 for the 2009 class with the commitment from Zeke.

So what if these two games against the high major are almost guaranteed losses? Our aspirations are to play in the NCAA Tournament and unless we win the National Championship (no, I'm not suggesting we will), our last loss of every season should be against a high major level team. We might as well be prepared as best as possible for that kind of game, so we can potentially pull a few upsets along the way. It will make league play seem easier too.Scheduling a big name school at home would be great for building community support as well. No one wants to show up for a game around the holidays against Niagra (as our previous attendance records demonstrate), but schedule UNC and the place will likely be sold out.

Bush is one of the best goalies this program has ever seen. He's very solid. Don't knock him.

I hate to bring up OSWho, but John Cooper was a great recruiter, but couldn't coach well. Tressel seems to be good at both.There is a balance between coaching and recruiting that results in wins on the field and maximizes a program's potential. So while its great to have all these prospects, I'd like to see it translate into success on the field. Although the team was relatively young this past year, the talent was there and we lost an NCAA tournament game to USF at home after being seeded. That's not the best way to earn respect at the national level. Given the recruiting classes and the tradition of the program, I expect more in upcoming seasons.

Amen. I've been saying that for 5 years now. I think eventually, NEOCOM will come to Akron and be absorbed into UA just as the law school was. However, there is a lot of political clout to overcome with Can't State, YSU, and CSU. A medical school in Akron is one of the best things that could happen to the city as there is a potential for an infusion of large sums of research $ and associated new companies.

I'll be surprised if we don't win a title in the next three years, with our talent.It will be very interresting to see how Akron is ranked in the pre-season. I think the coaches may put Akron top-5, but more reasonable is around #10. A team this young and talented will improve as season advances, and could be a real contender by November -- but I hate to put too much pressure on the kids' shoulders so early.
