Let's squash this discussion while the season is still going on!...We have a good team and as we know, anything can and does happen in the MAC Tournament. So, we should be excited about the opportunity to go dancing and play in the post-season THIS YEAR!

You're more of a Can't sympathizer than and UA supporter.I currently attend Pitt and the fundraising campaign here was begun in late 2000 and completed earlier than originally intended. The original goal was $500 million, which was obtained and raised to $1 billion and again, obtained and raised to $2 billion without a definitive time constraint. Universities do this so that no matter what the giving rate, the goal can be accomplished, which is an indication of success (and not failure if there were a set timeframe and the goal was not achieved).http://www.pitt.edu/giving.html

I had always assumed it was to make light of their yuppy student body and alumni base.

I'm pretty pissed too. It's hard to complain about not getting an at-large bid or a respectable seeding when opportunities like this one are not taken full advantage of. Dominating a team and then losing to end the season is perhaps the worst feeling in the sports world.Just like the basketball MACC last, season, I feel the worst for the seniors who have to end their careers on such an off-pitch note. Underclassman and juniors, come out next season ready to avenge this defeat!

Sure beats the weather the day we hosted WVU in a second-round tournament home game a few years back. That game was played in a couple inches of snow.

If we schedule a I-AA game next year, I'd like it to be against YSU as this would be well attended and have local interest. Also, I don't think UA could stand the set back that would occur if we scheduled a game against one of the top I-AA schools and lost (e.g. Michigan versus Appalachian State).

Ironically, Lola is a Duke alum where his dad was head coach and he was a two-time all-american. When Lola played his Duke team beat UA in the 1986 National Championship 1-0.

Wins against New Mexico, UIC, Kentucky, and Oakland were also very big.

I think we will end up with anywhere from the 12th to the 16th seed giving us a first-round bye and a second-round home game. I agree, we perhaps deserve a better seed and ranking, but that aspect is beyond control. In the tournament, all that matters is winning the next game. It's a new season.

IMO, UA has earned a first round bye and a home game for the second round. Let's hope the selection committee feels the same way.When and where will the bracket be released?

This isn't a good time to go up there though because it's so cold. July is about the only time I would want to visit Alaska.
