  1. An understatement for sure. Thanks for mentioning it.
  2. See previous post.

  4. Way too many fouls.
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=270342006zips win 70-52
  6. If he's quick, he'll be okay.
  7. Attention CK. I'm not getting a link to your updated posts.
  8. I predict you will see the same commercial after this game is played.
  9. Against good teams, we lose the game when they have a 17 ft attempt advantage. Good thing youngstown can't make free throws. In my opinion, the teams achilles heel has been and still is making free throws and boxing out. How much time do they spend on this and do they practice this part of the game when they are tired? We were outrebounded 46-33 against youngstown and as a team we are shooting 63% from the line.
  10. If they were a guard in the backfield I would be happy. Our two fullbacks were awful at hitting anything in the opposing team colors. Two or three runs a game will do nothing but make it second and long. If we had a fullback I would change my mind. Can they improve? I hope so because their play was very weak. They certainly contributed to Getsy's poor play, as did the line blocking, wr drops, plays called, and the qb.
  11. If their blocking ability is any indication, I say skip the fb run and just pass it every down.
  12. He didn't pick himself. Should he not have accepted the award? Picking on him seems a bit sarcastic. The o-line had many problems and he had his share of miscues. I'm surprised by the cutting remark and a bit disappointed.
  13. We were playing for the MACC. Not a strong argument to make your case. I was at that game and there was a good following of Akron fans in attendance for a thursday game in Detroit. If the BBall team makes it to the MACC there will be a very good following too.
  14. This is too funny. Seems someone from marketing joined ZipsNation yesterday to give a little pep talk. Almost as funny as Iheartkerriker, aka putz kreger, with the parking fiasco talking it up on this forum.
  15. Ironclad, promise. What a naive argument.
  16. I thought it was once called Akron City College, but I don't think it has ever been Akron U. Just a local colloquialism. It appears to have been named the Municipal University of Akron from 1913 till 1967 when it became a state university and changed to the University of Akron.http://www3.uakron.edu/ips/overview/uahist.htmhttp://www.uakron.edu/resources/history/UAhistory.php
  17. http://mac-sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...0&ATCLID=696580Getsy honorable mention No mention of Mackey, Gonzalez, Jones, Reid on defense. In fact, no defensive players mentioned. The defense for the most part kept us in games and not a sniff from the MAC office.
  18. Nice post, thanks a-zip.
  19. The University has bigger problems than the media. The scrolling signs on the North Deck say the game starts at 1:00 pm and this is a University owned and operated sign. As of 8:43 am wednesday they still had the wrong info.
  20. What's missing from this post?
  21. After one game PC (post carthon) the offense was able to put up their second highest point total this year. Impressive, no but they won the game. Time will tell how good he will be. I believe that barring injury, Charlie Frye will have a long productive NFL carreer. ps. What ever happened to iheartkerriker.
  22. Louisville won by passing the ball. WVU couldn't stop the pass. With 5 db's stopping the pass, they should have had more success. The linebackers were getting destroyed covering the middle and deep middle. They would allow the catch and then attempt a tackle. WVU put a lot more pressure on the QB than we have been able to, but the play action froze the defense. The pound the ball claim didn't happen. Louisville had 127 yards on 29 attempts for a respectable 4.4 yards per attempt. I don't think Slaton hurt the team by not being in there. His inability to hold onto the ball cost his team two touchdowns and any momentum they may have had. That and the pass defense is what hurt the team. If he can't hold the ball, why would anyone want him to play? Both teams have good offenses but neither has any semblance of defense and they will be overmatched against the elite Big 10 competition.
  23. After 12 or 13 starts for Charlie, it amazes me that so many can predict the future. Anyone have some lotto numbers they can share with the group?
