No idea where to put this, I know it's been well discussed on this board, but I saw Jared liked this tweet, thus a new thread. 🤷♂️. All in for fall and spring soccer!
Zips practiced...yesterday (??) at Portland State's new Viking Ship auditorium, something like the Stroh Center in BGSU. A really nice small gym that has gotten all kinds of plaudits from the alums and Park Lots (downtown Portland campus) community. I ❤ my two alma maters.
Born and raised in Akron (Green exactly), I swear I only learned Mogadore was in Summit County a year ago! Why does Mogadore HS compete in the Portage County League?? 🤷♂️🙃
Marla's columns occasionally get picked up by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, since both papers have common ownership. But normally about the Browns, or generic football or baseball/basketball (NBA). I enjoy her.
These are the rankings by the selection committee of every team in the field, and is used to determine seeding for the first round. Since there are four regions, just count down each four spots in the ranking to see the seed levels. ......
I just realized one thing from looking at the chart...Akron as a 13 seed should be ranked in the top 52...13x4. Does anyone have time to compare the chart rankings to the actual seedings? Something went wrong from mathematically. 🤔 lol
From this old ESPN piece on Sendy's hiring as HC, it appears that a "show cause" finding is a very low hurdle to remaining in the profession during the penalty period. His AD simply told the committee he'd vouch for his credibility and hold his hand till the phase ended.

If these two do for @ZipMBB what they did for UWGB WBB - i.e. a perennial top mid-major program and NCAA tournament high seed, basketball fans will call for them to stay forever!
I REALLY hope the women don't have to go to East Lansing or another road P-5 court, as they've done I think every time they've been in the WNIT. Remember, Toledo won the whole shebang a few years ago, beating USC in the final at Savage before 8000.
Have been waiting for that since 2001, when Bonzi Wells and his Ball State team finished Runner up. BTW, they beat both Kansas AND...UCLA in that event!!

PDX is my third home, but as @Captain Kangaroo can confirm, the last time the Zips played there - 2009 vs Gonzaga - I wasn't able to attend either! And this will be another missed opportunity as my cardiologist has me lined up for an operation that I scheduled back when the NCAA tournament was a pipe dream! Mahalo to John Groce and the team for showing me not to count my chickens before they're hatched. And now I have extra motivation to recover quickly!
Surprised I never heard anyone mention this but... "Do you know how hard it is to beat the same team three times in a row?" 😉
I don't know for sure, but I can't remember either of these teams beating the other three consecutive times in the past 10+ years!
Wow! Amazingly and surprisingly close MAC Women's Championship game. 65-60 Bulls, with Dyaisha at 28 with 6+minutes to play. Ball State really putting up a battle. I think Jordyn getting the POY really inspired Fair. She went over the 2000 career point mark today and has a year left. Cece's record will likely fall!
