  1. Hooray Indeed. I still have a job. There had been talk here and there at first that they were gone (I work for Bridgestone/Firestone), but once the state gave the company a 75%(!!!) tax cut for employee retention, it seems they changed their mind quickly.I used to work there not long after I graduated and left last time they talked about moving to TN. Still know a few people there and it's good that they are staying.
  2. Down side to that plan if my math is correct is only 6 home games possible. I'm all for playing them, but leave the door open to more home games to pay for the stadium (and more income for the city with the teams and fans traveling here).
  3. golfer leaves for Univ. of Columbus
  4. Did you see what I saw?Sprechen der Deutsch Bubba? Maybe Nick Myers will still get a shot at him (Rotterdam, NED)
  5. Not sure if anyone else has seen this or if there's a more up-to-date site for finding out where some of the past players are playing.Good to see many still playing.
  6. Yep. Pitt, 'Cuse, Louisville & Cincy. I agree; those are exactly the teams we should be playing.I'll third that.
  7. That narrows it down to possibly Miami or Florida A&M... not sure if Wright State would be called yelow or orange.
  8. That goes for the casual fan too. They would rather come to see us play a name team than even the other conference teams (Can't excluded).
  9. Come on...tell me you do NOT think anyone here would want those urinal troughs. But perhaps Can't wants/needs them as a receptacle to dye their piss yellow uniforms!!! I say we donate the urinals and some homemade Zip yellow "dye" from our fans to the cause. Go Zips!!Maybe they could use them for the upgrades at Dix
  10. From the club seat sales video posted above, it appears to me one only gets that luxury for at least $1000/seat; the rest of the seats appear to be bleachers only.
  11. He has shown signs of being a great punter. Do you remember how he put on an All-American type performance against OSU? He has the talent. The coaches are the ones making him do the stupid rugby punt thing. If our punt-coverage has improved, Stec will be allowed to make more of the regular punts that he is capable of.And that "stupid rugby punt thing" worked fabulous a few times when it was used as a fake on 4th down, not that I'm advocating that they should do that all the time.
  12. Thanks Zipsrifle and Ziptrumpet for the pictures you have posted. It is really exciting to see the updates that are posted and the progress that accompanies each picture. The impact of the stadium is monumental, but I also like the psychological effect the Outdoor Living Room will have on the south side of the entrance to Buchtel Hall. So many people will see it when they come for sporting events and it will make a hell of an impression. Our campus is going to be second to none. To paraphrase Mel brooks "It's good to be a Zip!" Actually I had no contribution here - credit should go to Dr Z for the picture I commented on.
  13. another friend to the Zips football and basketball team?
  14. I guess with his intended major he could be a "game changer" with those gamer computers.
  15. One down... will the "major-majors" shut everyone else out from hosting?
  16. Fantastic article and it sure sounds like he's got his head on right! Hope he has a great senior year and I can't wait for him to join the new Dambrot Dynasty!
  17. Read about Jessica Miller Hafner's title win here: Wooster Daily Record article
  18. Bowden's article noting Zippy gets mentioned in Vegas Daily Record
  19. Mostly about the late UGA and some of his info is wrong (Goodrich, not Goodyear), but Terry Bowden gives Zippy some love.click here
  20. This would be a sweet place to have a pep rally or as a concert stop on the game-day march from Guzzetta to the stadium!
  21. Maybe parking the equipment down in the bowl isn't such a good idea?
  22. I suspect that will happen next week. Anyone know what the concrete rows they poured in the visitor side stands area are?
  23. This may be a better program for UA: coal fuel cell technology at UA
  24. Anyone know if Jason Taylor has any influence in the FL recruiting... after all, he is arguably the most well-known Zip football player there in FL.
